A balanced aroma, not too much hops but not too much malt. Caramel notes compliment a slightly bitter finish. Nice and drinkable, sweet as well.

Clear copper pour with a finger thick foamy dirty white head that dissipates quickly. Carbonation present. Aroma of malts as poured that lessens when it settles. Dry hop undertones also present on the nose. Nice dry bite up front on the tongue. A malty nuttiness as well with a mildly bitter finish. Solid pale ale.

Bottle thrown in as an extra in a trade a while back, poured into a pint glass. It’s a generally impressive looking pale with a deep golden amber color with a creamy one-finger head that doesn’t seems to shrink at all and leaves large sheets of lacing. The aroma is very subtle and balance with some light fruity hops, mainly lemon zest and oranges, along with some roasted caramel malts. The taste follows the aroma and is just as well balanced with floral and citrus hops blending very well with the caramel malt backbone. The mouthfeel is clean and soft with little bitterness and lots of carbonation. This is a very well-crafted and understated beer from Stone and the drinkability is high as there is nothing over-the-top about this one. Nothing groundbreaking but a very good beer.

Bottle at Novare Res in Portland. What a nice pale, not too strong on the hops and very drinkable. If someone were to ask me what american beer tasted like I think I’d give them several stone brews. Love the Gargoyles too :)

Nice, smooth APA with strong grass note. Perhaps a bit too sweet. Unfortunate lager aspect. Not amazing like the IPA.

1/21/09 lager glass. thick amber color with thick, white frothy head, although disipated quickly, but left a great lace. subtle hop aroma, but you know they are there. light bodied. goes down smooth. very nice balance of hops and malt. just the right amount on both! very smooth and tasty!

Pours a light coppery color with thick frothy head. However, this thing developed way too much head for as slow as it was poured. As the head subsided, it looked like a healthy piss frothy up on a urinal cake...a literal feast for the eyes. Aroma is a light citrus aroma with some lemony taste and some bready notes. Sames goes with the taste, it has a very lemony and bready taste that I just don’t care for. This one is going down the drain.

Pours beautiful clear amber color with light head. Great balance of hops and malt. Slightly sweet and very smooth finish. Not my favorite style of beer, but I loved it!
