What a nice pale, not too strong on the hops and very drinkable. If someone were to ask me what american beer tasted like I think I’d give them several stone brews. Love the Gargoyles too :) chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jan 23, 2009 Updated: Jan 27, 2009Nice, smooth APA with strong grass note. Perhaps a bit too sweet. Unfortunate lager aspect. Not amazing like the IPA. ChetLemmons (87), orlando, Florida, USA Jan 21, 2009 1/21/09
lager glass.
thick amber color with thick, white frothy head, although disipated quickly, but left a great lace. subtle hop aroma, but you know they are there. light bodied. goes down smooth. very nice balance of hops and malt. just the right amount on both! very smooth and tasty! Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jan 19, 2009 Pours a light coppery color with thick frothy head. However, this thing developed way too much head for as slow as it was poured. As the head subsided, it looked like a healthy piss frothy up on a urinal cake...a literal feast for the eyes. Aroma is a light citrus aroma with some lemony taste and some bready notes. Sames goes with the taste, it has a very lemony and bready taste that I just don’t care for. This one is going down the drain. PKPMarine (32), San Diego, California, USA Jan 18, 2009 Pours beautiful clear amber color with light head. Great balance of hops and malt. Slightly sweet and very smooth finish. Not my favorite style of beer, but I loved it! kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 18, 2009 12oz bottle from Whole Foods (Tampa, FL). Pours a clear amber color with a thick and frothy two finger off-white head that settles slowly and heavily laces the glass. Aroma is malty and sweet with notes of honey, caramel, citrus, grapefruit, spice and floral hops. Flavor is also sweet and malty with notes of floral hops, honey and caramel, bread, yeast, slight citrus and hop overtones. Generally light to medium body with a pleasing malty finish. msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Jan 15, 2009 12oz bottle from Lagunitasfan. Pours amber with white head. Aroma of citrus hops and malt. Flavor is malty with some citrus hop notes. Solid brew that is perfectly balanced like all Stone beers. Could use some more hops. Nice session ale. Collint (452), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Jan 15, 2009 Bottle, pours a perfect amber beer with a thin not bad white head. This beer looks just like the pictures that I have seen in the magazine (Draft). Flavor is citrus sweet hoppy goodness with some malt characteristics in the finish and a floral hop bite. Very clean mouthfeel with an awesome carbonation, the end is dry and bitter. Very nice beer, well balanced and drinkable.
