4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled: Cobber coloured. Decent head, that has a medium lasting. Aroma is hoppy but not as much as other examples from this mighty brewery. Seems a little more balanced. Flavour is smooth and hoppy and gives a pleasant felling on the tongue. I very much like the balanced bitterness in the end. Yet another great beer from Herbjones in sunny ca. Many thanks.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
If, as the bottle say, this is their flagship beer, how come I can get every other of their non-seasonal except this one?! Regardless, hazy copper body topped by small beige head. Big hoppy aroma (grapefruit/flowery), supported by mild sweetness. Flavor is medium flowery hoppy, with hints of peach and grapefruit. Chewy body. No attempt to overwhelm you, which is somewhat unexpected in a Stone brew. Instead, what they've given is a delicious full-bodied beer.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This, is perhaps the best ale in the world. I never new an ale could taste this good, right out of the bottle! The boys at Stone really know what there doing! They've taken brewing to another level!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Copper color with minimal head. Fresh citric hop aroma complimented by bready malts. Full malty flavor - this is much more malty than the average APA. Nice hop presence doesn't manage to overpower the malt. Lingering hop bitterness in the finish Very good pale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clean copper color with a thin tan head. Delicat hop flowers are very present in the nose and continue into the mouth. Bready maltieness intertwines with hop flowers and make a superbe balance. A solid example of an american pale.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Garnet colour in body with a clean citrus/orange flavour with a suble hint of almond. This beer glided back and forth across the palate. A nice flowing hoppy aroma throughout for a nice finish.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2007 OK, so it’s not their best offering but it is their best selling, by far. Nice and hoppy for a pale, but what do you expect from San Diego?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fresh hoppy aroma with a very slight hint of malt. Rusty in color. Refreshing wet palate with a great balance of medium hopping and mild sweetness. The finish is relatively dry and somewhat hoppy.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
garnet burgandy color, excellent aroma smells of cotton candy. Malty thick and rich drank slightly below cellar temperature. Finish is unique nutty & malty.Very complex ale I would not have believed it was less than 8% ABV, maybe its Double Bastards Little brother--Mini Bastard. This beer is as balanced as any I have had. I wish a few cases could be sent this way, I would stock up. Reminds of mixing a Barley Wine with an traditional Pale Ale, this is in no way a traditional Pale Ale, though it absolutely is a top 50 beer. Highly Recommended, special thanks go out to Mr.ArrogantBastard for sending this superb well crafted beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
After reading this beer's ratings I was excited to try it. It was a decent pale ale, but I wonder if I got a bad bottle... it didn't do much more for me than other pale ales.
