jstraw (750), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 9, 2008 Muddy amber with good, creamy off-white head / Sour malt nose / Medium body, big malts balancing big hops, with decent, bitter finish / Flavors of cooked citrus, malt, caramel, coconut, and dry hops / Well made, with fine body, but cooked flavors detract. glennmastrange (809), hobe sound, Florida, USA Dec 8, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted and nutty, light to moderate note of pine for the hops, slight dough for the yeast and background notes of wood, and faint dried fruit. Head is small, creamy with some bigger bubbles, white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear light amber/copper. Flavor starts slightly sweet, and lightly acidic and the long finish is lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, slightly oily and has a lively carbonation. This is an excellent American Pale Ale with tastes of an American Strong. What else would you expect from Stone? smith4498 (829), Miami, Florida, USA Dec 7, 2008 Pours clear amber with off white head. Caramel malt and flowery hop aromas. Caramel malt \flavor balanced nicely with mild hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. A well done APA. wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours copper amber color, medium white, slightly frothy head. Has aroma of caramel, toasted malts, bread, some slight citrus. Flavor is similar--malty with a decent finish of hops. Hops increase through the beer, and make a nice well-balanced beer. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2008 Amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus and earthy hops, malt and bread. Taste of citrus, toffee, caramel, bread and male. Thick body has some vegetal qualities but it’s decently balanced and overall a decent APA. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pours a beautiful clear amber with a frothy and not too persistent head. Aroma is strong and has a nice balance of malt and hops, leaning towards malt. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy, but not quite like an IPA - malt and hops contribute equally to the flavor, and hop bitterness is minimal. Texture is smooth and delightful. Theis (3617), Denmark Nov 21, 2008 Bottle at Millennium Hotel in Boulder. Clear dark amber - white head. Chocolate, cocoa, nice malty, nice hoppy, bitterness, resin, wood. Powerfulllll finish. Nice. daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Nov 21, 2008 Thanks to Barry at Hurricane Grill and wings. For a pale ale this is bad ass. Malty and hoppy meet like harry met sally.
