MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 21, 2008 Updated: Nov 29, 2008Thanks to lithy for the bottle! Transparent amber with a small head, gone quickly. Nice balance in the nose between malt sweetness and some hop citrus, though it’s a little sugary. Flavor is similar except the malt dominates, very bready in the aftertaste. A little thin. Overall decent, very drinkable. HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 19, 2008 Pours a clear deep amber with firm white head. Aroma is a mix of sweet malts and pine hops. Flavor is pine and grassy hops balanced by caramel malts. Neither the hops or the malts reign, but rather blend nicely and distinctly. Dry and satisfying finish. An excellent pale ale, on par with Sierra Nevada. wheelz843 (203), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Nov 18, 2008 bottle. has a very lemony aroma. pours a thick amber color with a thin tan head. has a bitter flavor with a nice carmel finish. very easy to drink. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Nov 2, 2008 Sampled at GWBF. Sweet mix of malt and hop aroma. Clear orange color with a medium white head. Light hop flavor throughout. Finish is mild. stchloe (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 28, 2008 Much more bitter than other pale ales, with a larger body and ABV. Very much a Stone ale. PoolhouseRebel (1), , New Jersey, USA does not count Oct 27, 2008 Pours a burnt copper color with medium off white head. Aroma is mostly malty, light flowery hops, and citrus, maybe orange or grapefruit. The malty caramel slightly beats out the hops on the taste but in all this beer has a great balance, clean and smooth aftertaste with a medium yet light afterthought. One of my favorite session beers. 1010 (206), Marysville, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy amber color with a nice large tan head. Has a good amount of hops for a pale ale with some citris.
12 oz. bottle johnnysmoke (53), Texas, USA Oct 24, 2008 Aroma is malty with cookie and caramel with light grapefruit hoppiness.
