Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 17, 2009 Bottle from Central Market in Fort Worth. I screwed myself having the Arrogant Bastard first. I wanted so much more. Chipper (181), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 14, 2009 Dark amber pour with a moderate off-white head. Hoppy aroma and a little spice and citrus. Flavor is solid hops, dry and with a little malt. Very solid. corby112 (677), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2009
Pours a clear dark amber color with golden orange hues when held to a light source. Frothy 2 finger beige head that slowly receeds into a lasting cap leaving sporadic lacing.
Citrus floral hop aroma with a nice malty butterscotch backbone. Hints of lemon peel, grapefruit, pine and caramel malt.
Very hop forward for a pale ale. Crisp floral citrus hops with lots of lemon peel, grapefruit and a nice caramel malt backbone. The malt presence is pretty prominent for the style as well. Crisp and quaffable with a slight pine dry hoppy finish.
halfonit (423), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Sep 2, 2009 Has a slightly cloudy dark golden amber color. Aroma is of hops with a little floral undertones. Taste has mostly hops with some malt, yeast, and some floral undertones. Has a nice and pleasant bite in the aftertaste. A good ol’ American brew. Mutualaid (136), Texas, USA Aug 29, 2009 Pours a dark, reddish amber with a generous, off-white head. Hoppy (pine) bouquet up front supported by subtle malt fragrances. Big hop flavor, again supported by a fruit maltiness, followed by a fair amount of hop bitterness, but not too much for the style. Malt flavors become more assertive, bringing out pear and toffee, as the beer warms into the 50s. Creamy, almost slick mouthfeel, and a clean, biscuity finish. Won’t be my favorite , unlike a lot of purported APAs, it definitely nails the style. NobleSquirrel (1100), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 26, 2009 Draft at Ebenezer’s. Oddly, I had never had this before and my girlfriend ordered it so I gave it a whirl. pretty standard APA with a very British character with it, English hops, some crystal malt in there as well. A bit grassy, but very drinkable. Alright. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2009 This is an almost perfect pale ale, and it is sold in grocery stores in Florida. Pours a caramel brown with an off-white head. Nose is lots of caramel and malt with noticeable citrus and pine hops. Flavor has a solid malt backbone with all manner of hops. Malt and hops in great proportion. Very enjoyable and sessionable pale ale. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2009 Not quite as delicious as most of the other Stone offerings, but still a valliant effort and decent choice among Pale Ales. Good amount of richness amd flavor with a nice hop finish.
