4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I am going to miss this old friend. Pale 2.0 is bad. This one was great pine and subtle floral hop aroma. Taste of light malts and super fresh hops. Great dry finish, a superb pale ale. Sorry to see it go.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smells of sweet malts and pine. It was quite complex and actually more like Arrogant Bastard than Stone IPA. Dark fruits on the tongue with more pine and hints of citrus and cherry. Far more robust than the ABV would indicate.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber, hazy, tall head.
Full body, moderate flavor, silky texture, good carbonation, low heat, long palate. Moderate bitterness, dry but somehow pleasantly balanced, low acidity.
Hoppy but also very malty, resiny and yeasty.
Very drinkable, deliciously malty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at La Puerta in San Diego. Pint mug. Impressive near amber color. Golden tinge. White froth about a half finger. Taste represents the Stone name well...plenty of bitter hops reign supreme. Almost overpowers all else but grassy and floral notes try to come through. Lingering aftertaste that is committed to the cause. Good aggressive pale ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of my favorite American Pale Ales. Though I am new to hoppy beers, I have enjoyed the Stone offerings.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt caramel color with a decent transparency about it. A semi - thick white foamy head dissipates to a rocky messiness running all around the glass.
The smell had a sweet caramel malts up front with a light roasty nuttiness and a light biscuity / breadiness. Hops are slightly grassy with a light citrus underneath.
The taste combines all of the previously mentioned flavors to blend yet keep mainly sweet through the malts. A lingering sweet maltiness leads in the aftertaste and leaves a semi-wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Bitterness is fairly subdued as an APA still good for the most part.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA that I could have again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
35.5cl bottle at Oosters, Singapore on 13/05/15, poured into a tulip glass. Amber colour - although a little bit hazy. Aroma of citrus, pine and malt. Light body and medium carbonation. Flavour of hops, fruit, caramel with bread and grain. Orange and some grapefruit. Bittersweet. A nice balance and easy to drink.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – For a pale ale this is really not all that pale with the beer pouring hazed, deep amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades moderately quickly leaving a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is strongest of a caramel aroma mixed with a little bit of a bready smell. Along with these aromas are some lighter smells of grassy smells as well as a little bit of a light fruit of apple and pear.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready and slightly grainy flavor with a hint of a grassy hop right upfront. Some caramel flavors are also upfront, with these growing slightly stronger to the middle of the taste but only increasing to later fade a bit as the taste moves on further to the end. Some of the light fruit flavors work their way onto the tongue throughout the taste all while the hop get more potent in taste. In the end the grassy and some more herbal and earthy hop flavors become more pronounced, and leave one with a rather bready and lightly sweet, sort of dank hopped pale ale flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side overall with a moderate thickness and a medium level of carbonation. For the more dank hop, mixed with sweet and bread, the feel is rather nice as it keeps with the easy drinkability of a pale of 5.4 % all while highlighting the hop nicely.
Overall – A good pale ale overall. Quite nice in hops and malt all while keeping an easy drinking feel. Rather tasty.
