yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 From tap at Pizza Port, San Clemente. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully diminished white head. Mild spiced and light hoppy aroma. Flavour is mild and light hoppy with a slight spice accent yet also a vague caramel malt presence. Ends dry and light bitter. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 6, 2008 (Draft @ FS, HOU): Pours a reddish brown color. Creamy gray-whitish head, good lacing and seems to last. Very mild aroma, some nuttiness. Maybe some dark grapes. Fizzy, smooth not creamy. Some nutiness, some balance. Some dustiness. Mild. Some kind of fruit in tne tnste, but not dark fruit. I guess I was expecting more hoppiness. pollardjt (26), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Aug 6, 2008 Great Pale Ale. Perfect balance between hops and malt. Stone has yet to disappoint me. It’s even nicer when you happen upon one of these that you don’t have to pay for (Huge thanks to Jason w/ Stone!) SHANER4 (370), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 4, 2008 12 oz. bottle - Poured a dark copper color with very little head. Aroma is very nice, malty and also light hop scent. Taste is rich malt and perfect balance of hops on tongue. This probably the best pale ale I have had to date and the first beer from Stone brewing. Looking forward to trying more if I get the chance !! Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 4, 2008 Draught > Flying Saucer. Good easy drinker. Little cherry flavor too, I think? Not great but not terrible. Would’ve liked to seen another Stone beer come to Texas besides this one. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear orange/red with a small tan head. Aroma of raisin and sweet malt. Flavor of the same sweet malt and raisin, very light floral hop presence. This doesn’t taste like any pale ale I’ve had before. It’s a little too malty/sweet for me, which normally I like, but this was too raisiny/super sweet. Just ok for me. fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 2, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of caramelly raisin, some tangerine notes, grass, maybe faint prunes, even some chocolate covered raisins, rich toasted and still doughy malt all in all. Flavor continues to be robust for a pale ale, with rich sweetness that’s balanced by at this point perhaps some faded hop presence, but still there enough to keep the beer from getting too sweet. Does seem a bit on the old side for a pale, but amazingly doesn’t really take away from it. Nice. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Aug 1, 2008 Pours a translucent golden amber with a medium creamy/lacing off white head. Aroma of caramel, tea, some citrus hops, and some other various fruits. Flavors of hops, caramel and lightly toasted malts and yeast. Some nuts. I prefer IPA’s but this one had a nice hop bitterness and flavor along with a decent malt backbone
