Stone Pale Ale

Bottle. Pours a clear orange/red with a small tan head. Aroma of raisin and sweet malt. Flavor of the same sweet malt and raisin, very light floral hop presence. This doesn’t taste like any pale ale I’ve had before. It’s a little too malty/sweet for me, which normally I like, but this was too raisiny/super sweet. Just ok for me.

Bottle. Aroma of caramelly raisin, some tangerine notes, grass, maybe faint prunes, even some chocolate covered raisins, rich toasted and still doughy malt all in all. Flavor continues to be robust for a pale ale, with rich sweetness that’s balanced by at this point perhaps some faded hop presence, but still there enough to keep the beer from getting too sweet. Does seem a bit on the old side for a pale, but amazingly doesn’t really take away from it. Nice.

Pours a translucent golden amber with a medium creamy/lacing off white head. Aroma of caramel, tea, some citrus hops, and some other various fruits. Flavors of hops, caramel and lightly toasted malts and yeast. Some nuts. I prefer IPA’s but this one had a nice hop bitterness and flavor along with a decent malt backbone

Kinda mild. Pretty mild. Maybe too mild? Excellent example of a pale ale. Not the best I’ve had. Sierra Nevada takes that cake. Have a feeling this rating is so high just because it has the gargoyle on the label, but that’s cool.

Pours a clear amber color with a two finger white head. Aroma is of citrus. Good carbonation. Taste is very mild and balanced. Good beer.

Clear amber color and fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus and caramel malt. Full body for a pale ale. Very good. I got a six pack and some of them have not had a nice head and have had a harsh alcoholic taste to them. So not consistent.

Thanks to Secret Santa for this! Pours a copper amber with a thick white head. Light malt and citrus aroma. Smooth malt taste with floral and citrus hops. Finishes nice and clean, a great little session beer.

Very good pale ale I was surprised. Hops and malts but also some citrus that blends nicely. Very good brew that should not be overlooked even though that is easy with all the good beers Stone puts out.
