chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA Jul 10, 2008 On Tap at Yard House, Brea, Ca. Pours amber brown with a fluffy tan head. Roasted nuts and hops dominate the aroma. Flavor is mostly roasted nuts (from the malt) and finishes with a nice hoppy kick. A nice balace between malt and hops. The hops are more subdued than IPA (obviously), but still nice for a hop-head. Easily the best Pale ale I’ve had. Nice smooth palate and nice lacing down the glass puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Jul 6, 2008 Aroma is sweet, the taste is impressive and lasts throughout the entire bottle, leaves a good aftertaste. Definitely desirable and good for lunch or dinner. : Perhaps a bit giddy on my last rating...my first taste in many months. Good malty sweetness to be found everywhere...a caramel malt base provides for a sweet smell and a good thorough taste...a little light on appearance from the tap however...thinning head and mild carbonation. Still an excellent delicacy from Stone Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Jul 6, 2008 On tap at a Del Mar restaurant. Poured a full amber with a small beige head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and light malt. Flavor is bitterly hoppy with some malty sweetness to balance. Good session brew that doesn’t overwhelm. Very solid. Jabswitch (206), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 5, 2008 On tap at the brewery in Escondido. Couldn’t ask for more than a Stone brew on tap. Fairly dark in appearance for a pale. Smooth, nice bitterness, citrus background, nothing negative about this one. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 4, 2008 Tap. Pours a deep, clear amber with minimal cream head. Mild aroma of hops, grass, malt and some spice. Tastes much like it smells with a mildly bitter finish. Light to medium prickly mouth feel. An ok Pale. weezfour (122), Oradell, New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2008 Wow, superness. Had this on tap at andy’s corner bar in bogota, nj. really smooth. goes down a bit too easy, but definitely not watered down. hits a nice balance. take this one any day. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jun 28, 2008 Updated: May 30, 2009Bottle from Tanks Bar & Grill in Dayton. A wonderful pale ale, one of my regular favorites. Color is a golden amber with a white head. Aroma is moderate hops with notes of citrus. Flavor is mild bitterness and very well balanced sweet maltiness. There’s nothing extremely intense about this beer, but an excellent brew for any session. awautlet (45), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 27, 2008 Clean, crisp and refreshing with significantly less hop than the IPA. I would say this was even a bit malty for a pale ale but it was also very enjoyable. Notes of caramel malt with a nice balancing citrusy hop.
