Picked this one up at Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA. Copper/amber color with an off-white head that sticks around and some really nice lacing. Aroma is citrus and some floral hops, not strong but decent. Caramel malty flavor, a little bit grainy, floral with a citrus hop bite. Very well balanced. A solid beer but I expect nothing less from Stone.

(Rating #1750)

Pours a red amber with thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, fruit, faint hops. Taste is caramel malts, fruit, faint hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and carbonation is lively on the tongue. Pretty great pale ale.

From a 22 oz. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is hoppy, citrus and a little fruit. Color is a clear amber burnt orange with a fluffy beige head. Firmly bitter but a great malt profile. Toasty and a little cracker. Hop flavor in the end and a clean dry finish. Not too carbonated and very easy drinking. A great example of the style.

A nice looking copper red beer with a small head. The aroma is a mild hoppiness, with floral and spicy notes. The flavor is mostly malt with a bit of hop bitterness. A bit thin in the mouthfeel. Not offensive in any way, but not intense in any way. I’m a much bigger fan of the IPA, ruination, or arrogant/double bastard.
