blipp (1632), Newark, New Jersey, USA Jan 11, 2008 Bottle. Appearance: Pours a really beautiful hazy orange amber with a long lasting light beige head and good lacing. Aroma: Mosty floral hops, some sweet fruits as well. Palate: Medium, very smooth. Flavor: Floral hops, a hint of caramel malt, an almost peach like fruitiness. Nothing is overpowering here, lots of different tastes mixing really well. Overall: This is an awesome beer. I know it’s the best pale ale I’ve had, can’t imagine one being much better than this. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 9, 2008 The Dan Journal #147. Tasted 12/21/07. 12oz bottle. Hazy with an amber hue. White spiraling head. Medium bodied and bright. Piney hops and nice malt backbone. Rather full for a pale ale. Moderate bitterness with citrus hops. Spicy and piney. Off-dry. Good PA! thegreat78 (32), San Marcos, California, USA Jan 9, 2008 The great ol standby. When ever you go to a place that has minimal taps this one is alway the go to. Perfectly balanced between malt and hops. Will always drink this one!!! Perfect Pale 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Jan 8, 2008 easly the best pale ale i have ever had. pours out a deep amber color with a small beige head. aroma is floral and fairly hoppy. flavor doesnt have the hops the aroma has but a nice balance with the malt. has a nice finish to it. fantastic beer. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 8, 2008 From bottle. Has a fairly dull aroma, with a bit of mild caramel, nuts, and butter-toffee. Light floral hops that are more of an afterthought. Sweet, fairly clean nose. Subdued, this one. Deep orange-amber, clear, with an off-white foamy lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation and bit of fizzy tang. Starts fairly sweet, with caramel and a nutty sweet maltiness about it. Light butter-toffee, followed by some mild bitter hops. Mild-medium bitter finish, with a lingering sugary sweetness. Perhaps the bottle is a bit old. Hudspart (371), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA Jan 5, 2008 Bottle: Good pale ale, but not great. Very little hop aroma or taste. I guess Stone uses all of their hops in their Ruination. Pours amber with a thick head. Slight aroma and taste of hops and butterscotch. Ill stick with their IPA. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2008 Draught at Brouwer’s Café: Deep amber, fiery, strong carbonation, very hazy, fantastic lacing.   One of the better looking Pale
Ales I have had in a while.   Very mild hop aspect, otherwise it appears to be more malty.   Mealy on the tongue, certainly more
malty than I expected, and moreso than it being hoppy.   Big malty mouthfeel, while great it just doesn’t have the zest of other Pale
Ales.   Pale malt finish, very little hop presense even at this point.   I am completely amazed this one isn’t hoppier.
Decent, but as a PNW Pale Ale its too subtle.
oteyj (716), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Jan 1, 2008 This is a damn good pale ale. Reminds me of Anchor Liberty Ale. Great hop content, balance, smoothness and complexity. Excellent appearance and frothy head as well. Among the better pale ales out there for sure. Stone never ceases to amaze me.
