thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Dec 31, 2007 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a semi-hazy typically carbonated light brown colored body. The weak aroma was hoppy and floral. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The weak flavor contained notes of malt hops and mild brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again. docsteigs (139), USA Dec 29, 2007 Nice amber color, full head. Tastes crisp, clean, nice malt and hop undertones. Very bitter. Clean finish. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Dec 26, 2007 12oz bottle. Rather dark pour with hop nose. Taste was bitter. Decent, was expecting more from this. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Dec 25, 2007 12 oz bottle. Body is red amber. Aroma is some hops - standard aggressive ’stoneage.’ Taste is slight bitterness, watered down in comparison to other stones Ive had, but this makes sense when comparing the alc of this to arrogant bastard, double bastard, and ruination. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Dec 22, 2007 Pours a deep red into the 25oz. beer mug. Nice white head with standard size bubbles. Has a nice mellow hop aroma. This is a great pale ale. Not as hoppy as a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale but a nice amount of hops throughout. Pretty standard palate. Smooth, doesn’t coat the mouth or tongue. This is a very drinkable brew, this is the Stone beer that got me started. It’s a gateway beer for the rest of their heavy brews. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Dec 22, 2007 Dark amber color; creamy head. Aroma of caramel, candi sugar, rhubarb. Medium to light body structure, a lot of caramel flavor, bitterness far below expectations (but with some aromatic quality). The bottle is not old, but the flavor seems to be. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 22, 2007 12oz bottle from my Summer Secret Santa. Standard amber colored pale ale body with a craggy, 2 fingers thick white head. Leaves some sporadic foam on top of the beer and decent cobweb lacing. Grapefruit hops, oranges, lemon grass, pine, bread dough and caramel malts highlight the aroma. Flavor profile is very similar, actually a pretty nice balance between the hops and the sweet components. Adds a touch of honey to further sweeten things up. Very slick on the palate, tons of hop resin left behind, coating the tongue. Surprisingly not that bitter or astringent at all. Medium bodied. Finish is mostly sweet, with a bitterness that stays on the edges and is really a costar to the malty sweetness. I like it, but it’s completely different from what I expected from this brewery. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 17, 2007 From a 12 oz. bottle--Poured a pale amber body with a nice fluffy white head. Nose of bready malts and citrus hops. Mildly caramel and fruity. Nice sessionable offering from a usually hyped up bold brewery.
