patty26 (95), New York, New York, USA Sep 30, 2007 Reddish copper pour with a decent sized head. Hoppy aroma with a touch of malt in the nose. The flavors are a bit thin but overall not bad. Not the best Stone offering but it will do. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Sep 28, 2007 Cask @ GBBF 2007. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Malty hoppy aroma. Sweet malty hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of citrus. Sweet malty bitter finish. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Sep 24, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Poured a amber color with a nice off-white head. Aroma of hops. Initial malt flavor leads into a crisp, hoppy finish with a nice fruity undertone. Good APA. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Sep 24, 2007 Bottle shared with Parksy. Deep amber, rich resinous hop and toffee aroma. Generous malty palate supports an equally generous green leafy hoppiness with a pleasing grapefruit note. Excellent. RichardGretton (3128), Leicestershire, England Sep 23, 2007 Cask@GBBF 2007. Golden brown beer with a lightly fruity and malty aroma and a golden beer malty flavour. Overall an OK fruity and malty beer. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Sep 22, 2007 Nice sessionable PA that is balanced and perhaps malt accented. I like it the clean yeast flavor profile. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Sep 19, 2007 12 oz bottle from Sicilianos market in Grand Rapids, MI. Muddy brown color with medium white head. Fruity dark malt aroma with some dough and no hops. Flavor is plum, very fruity, light spiciness, grain, very belgian in quality. Medium to full in body and creamy. Very interesting pale, not quite like any I’ve had before. Very individualistic, but solid and has mass appeal. thewolf (5623), Kolding, Denmark Sep 19, 2007 Bottle. [thanks to my good friend Øster for sending this from California]
It pours a light hazy orange-amber. Head is quite large, a bit yellowish, quite bubbly (small bubbles). Aroma is very flowery hoppy, but still well-rounded. There is a good dose of caramel in the background as well. Rather low carbonated. Flavour is mild, extremely well hopped. Balance between mouthfeel, hops and caramel sweetness is absolutely stunning. Not that dry at the end as I’d suspect, but this is the session beer of choice if ever I live in Escondido :o) Insanely drinkable and very low in alcohol - great! I want more
