ajax4 (9), USA does not count Sep 18, 2007 Solid pale ale, but nothing too interesting. Hop flavors are not too bitter, definitely citrusy. phiconners (122), Massachusetts, USA Sep 17, 2007 Pours a nice copper, not too much aroma. Some hops flavor comes through, and some sweetness. As a pale ale it’s a good session beer. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Sep 16, 2007 12oz bottle, Brickskeller. Pours a clear, orange-amber color; off-white head with solid retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Light caramel and citrus in the aroma; not much here. Medium mouthfeel: plenty of chewy caramel, mineral and lightly minty hops, but doesn’t really have a hop character that extends itself; earthy cherries with some dried fruits; this likely has quite a bit of age behind it at this point; tea-like malts and a light mintiness at mid-palate; end with soft malts and minerals. Underwhelming. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Sep 14, 2007 dark ruddy copper body and medium tan thick foamy head. aroma is hoppy floral and pale dry malt. flavor profile is thin for a stone, light earthy malt and mild hoppy bitterness. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Sep 14, 2007 Bottle - 12 oz. Hazy amber/chestnut budy with average off-white foamy head. Wonderful hoppy aroma with malty, caramel, brown sugar and fruity notes. Hoppy taste is well balanced and a bit milder than I was expecting. Ends with a long and sharp bitter finish. Very well done Pala Ale. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 14, 2007 Bottle from trade. Very pretty, deep amber color. Nice smooth taste with hints of bitterenss and caramel. I’m really starting to like this brewery. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 14, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours amber with a large beige head. Aroma of citrusy hops, caramel, slightly floral. The flavor is slightly sweet, caracmel, citrus, and finishes bitter, and dry. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 14, 2007 Pours a dark amber with a very light tan head. Nose is of perfumed hops with the expected citrus head. Really a heavy perfume fragrance throughout. Flavor is consistently bitter in a smooth way. On the tail end a sweeter side appears. Feel has a decent carbonation, but overall feels a little bit thin; but still overall is extremely good. Great drink ability. Damn you, Stone.
