3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hoppier than I expected. Flavors of floral hops, pine, caramel, nuts and hints of toffee. Crisp, fairly dry finish takes the edge of the bitterness. Couldíve used a bit more sweetness for balance.

Bottle. Amber color with thin head and little lacing. Smell is sweet caramel maltyness with slight pine hop presents. Taste is grapefruit, resinous, strong caramel malt pine, and a little spice on the end. Medium carbonation, mouthfeel feels spritzy. Good pale ale.

12oz bottle. This is a little to hoppy for me. Not bad though. For the price itís not for me but if you really like pale ales give it a shot.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Copper hue with good head. Nutty caramel aroma. Sweet and nutty as well when tasted but a good hopping follows, mostly orange citrus. Kidding me though. This is not a pale it's an amber.

Dark amber/red pour with a frothy white head. Good lacing. Malty caramel, hoppy citrus and bitterness, leafy, grassy, resinous. Very quaff-able and a good pale ale. Great to see Stone Brewing in Ireland. A little on the pricey side though.

Bottle sample at a tasting at our place. Thanks zvikar. Clear, fizzy, reddish gold. Sweet, hoppy, candy and oxidized. Bitter, a little stale and old. Medium body, slightly bitter finish. Old.

Malt forward and dominant - very English bitter in style which isnít for me - watery and lacks depth - disappointing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2014 bready malts with nut aroma, dark amber (orange) color, white head that things but stays throughout drinking, medium bitter taste, more hoppy than expected, medium body, lacing throughout drinking, bitter finish that fades. Not my favorite pale ale but something to serve and drink when only 1 or 2 will do.

I only rate this one low for me because Iím not a huge pale ale fan. Pours a deep Amber red with a light head. Definitely smell the malts before you dive in to this brew. Taste wise is very roasty very toasty. Great caramel flavor with a slight bitterness to cleanse the palate. And a superb smooth finish. Great pale.
