4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Copper hue with good head. Nutty caramel aroma. Sweet and nutty as well when tasted but a good hopping follows, mostly orange citrus. Kidding me though. This is not a pale it's an amber.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Aroma was a great malty smell with a hint of hops. No head at all. The tasted was really clean and easy. A great amount of hops, malt and yeast all balanced well. It was smooth and light on the palate. Would suggest.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle from Best Damn Beer Shop. This could be a great starter ale for those who may not be ready for a full blown IPA. A subtle but distinct pine hops presence against a solid malt base provides a bold, crisp flavor. The end is bitter and dry but not nearly as bitter as an IPA. Aftertaste is the residual bitterness and the bread of the malt. Well crafted and very drinkable.

Had on tap at Stone Liberty Station in San Diego. Pours a rich bet with a thin white head. Aroma is toffee. Very dry clean finish. Really nice but not really a pale ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really old backlog rating, August 2011. 12oz bottle from Utobeer. It pours a clean amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is quite hoppy but with good malt backbone. Notes of grass, pine, citrus juice, light pine cones, light toffee. Taste is medium sweet and medium grassy and hoppy. Malty toffee notes, biscuit, grass, citrus, grapefruit and resinous hops. Bitter quite dry finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, nice and balanced pale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
355mL bottle Enjoy by 10/29/14
Looks nice in the glass; pale amber, decent clarity, firm white head.
Nose has a good measure of hop & malt character - spicy, woody, pine & citrus combining with biscuity, lightly toasted, baked bread crust sort of character that seems common in many American ales.
Medium to full body, decent carbonation, drinks well.
There’s really nothing to complain about here - biscuity malts, spicy hops, good persistence onto the finish, bitterness is lifted but clean & balanced.
Overall, very good APA - shame it has to travel from the other side of the world to get here!

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear copper, medium off-white head which settles fairly quickly. Aroma of biscuit and caramel with floral notes. Flavours of citrus, caramel, a little pine perhaps, slightly floral, and a moderate amount of malt which isn’t too overbearing. Moderate bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, fairly smooth. Pretty nicely balanced in all.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"a little less of everything than Alpha King, but rates super high as far as drinkability. the flavor and aroma are a little subdued, especially for Stone, but it’s still more than enough. one of the better pales around."

caramel, chocolate, nuts, floral, citrus, pale, golden, minimal head, white foam,
Great beer overall. One of my all time favorites and will continue to be in my rotation. Would highly recommend as a gateway beer to the Pale world.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear copper with a thin rocky light beige cap. Crisp hoppy nose with a little herbalness and a touch of grassy resin and biscuity malt. Smooth flavor with a bit of grassy and resinous bitterness right up front with biscuit and pale malt finish. A wee bit sharp and herbal hop note.
