Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

This is a new addition to the East Coast Stone line-up, many thanks to their new brewing facilities out West. Pours a deep amber with crystal clarity. That’s a looker of a beer. Aromatics were considerably muted, but did pick up a biscuity, woodsy character. Past the lips it opens up to a nutty, malty, caramel-tinted treat that has the same hop profile as the other Stone brews, it is just that this one is a bit more shy. Think of it as the awkward new kid who just transferred from another school. Sure, at first his glasses and retainer make him ripe for the bullying, but get past that and you have got a good friend. A good beer from Stone, though I cannot wait for the arrival of the Ruination 6’ers over here.

The head stayed strong for quit a while and continued to stick around until the last sip always covering the beer underneath with its precense. The smell was light although I did have a tough time picking out the smells. The taste was simply a great pale ale. Unfortionutly I had a Dogfish Head World Wide Stout before this which could have tainted my raiting. Basically if you enjoy a pale ale get this beer.

Good color and nice white milky foam that lasts. Good initial malty tatse, but the aftertaste is a little too bitter for me. Not a bad beer but definately not one of my favorites.

12 oz bottle. Pours a color of amber and honey with a thin head and a nice, webbed lacing. Malty nose with toasted bread and sugars. Big hops in the taste but does not overpower notes of caramel and citrus. Slightly bitter mouth feel, though entirely expected for the style. Very nice pale ale.

Great Pale Ale. Perfect balance between hops and malt. Stone has yet to disappoint me. It’s even nicer when you happen upon one of these that you don’t have to pay for (Huge thanks to Jason w/ Stone!)

Well hopped and delightfully bitter. More drinkable than their IPA’s, but not lacking in flavor at all. Good beer.

For me, this is the best session beer in the world. How can you do any better? Delectable hoppng with a solid, well balanced malt backbone. I went on a trip to San Diego last year and enjoyed many great beers but it was always nice to come back to Stone. Man, I’d like to get this in my draft fridge!

Strong hops flavor with a definite grapefruit flavor. Bitterness is pleasantly stronger than average, but not overboard. Quite a bit of uniqueness. Reasonably priced in San Diego ($7.29 for 6 bottles). A definite recommend.
