COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

a nice clean copper color w/ a large white foamy head laces well. Very light aroma oranges a light citrus hop and a small sweet malt. Palate is well carbonated a bit dry decent coating not much creaminess. Flavor is nicely bitter a bit piney and has a very light malt w/ hints of citrus throughout. This was a dang good beer in an otherwise very blah style. Thanks to Blake for sharing.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2009 Bottle: Pours a hazy copper with a small beige head and no real lacing. Nose is light of florals with hints of pine and citrus. Tastes hoppy with florals, light citrus, and a decent malt character. Milder than other stone ales that I’ve tried, but fitting to the style and still a nice brew.

Pours a bright orange colour with a small to medium sized white fluffy head. Aroma is sweet yet stinging. By that i mean it is fruity, citrusy, floral and enticing, yet the sharp hop scent- well balanced of course, leads me to think that this brew might have something special in store for me. Astringent, chewy and slightly bitter. plenty of fruits and fresh flowers floating around this one. My second brew from Stone. Thanks for coming to Wisc!

Bottle. Caramel-amber in colour. Aroma of mild hops and some soft cookie malts. The flavour was slightly sweet, some caraml and cookies, doughy malts. Mild body, mild carbonation. Finishes with a mild bitterness, medium length.

Bottle split with BossHossBikes. pours a lighter amber hue, though on the darker side of APA’s. A little white head forms. Lacing is spotty after a good swirl. The nose is less hoppy than I was expecting. Really, given the Stone philosophy, I was envisioning a straightforward lightly malty brew with some generous citrus leaning bitterness. I get more in the way of apples, wood, and melon in the nose. Flavor has strong suggestions of wood, hints of apples, caramel, and oranges. This is not all that bitter. The profile has some nods to an English Pale imho, but has the foundation of a standard American pale. This one is pretty mellow all around. It is cool that they tried something just a bit different here, but I can’t say it was my favorite Stone brew.

Bottle. Thanks, Guido! Pours lightly hazy amber with a fluffy off-white head. Bittersweet taste of caramel, citrus, earth. Cedar caramel nose. Dry cedar finish.

Transparent amber with a small head, gone quickly. Nice balance in the nose between malt sweetness and some hop citrus, though it’s a little sugary. Flavor is similar except the malt dominates, very bready in the aftertaste. A little thin. Overall decent, very drinkable.
