4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled: Cobber coloured. Decent head, that has a medium lasting. Aroma is hoppy but not as much as other examples from this mighty brewery. Seems a little more balanced. Flavour is smooth and hoppy and gives a pleasant felling on the tongue. I very much like the balanced bitterness in the end. Yet another great beer from Herbjones in sunny ca. Many thanks.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 355ml from Burg Bieren, Ermelo, Netherlands. Brownish amber with off white head. Finally got to try the original and although there is a soft, tropical fruity hoppiness the thing that really strikes is the malty sweetness, way above what I was expecting. Almost candy like, the hops try to cut through but they are a little masked. A little disappointed really.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
amber colour, nice lace, strong hop aroma, smooth, lot of character, long bitter and slightly spicy aftertaste. Could well be the best pale ale I have ever tasted.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer rocks.
Wonderful aroma of rich malt and lively hops. Alcohol, caramel, toffee, vanilla and a unique hop spiciness are evident in the nose as well.
A beautiful, sparkling, deep amber hue. Large, white, creamy head with excellent lacing. Mostly diminishing... eventually.
The flavor is superb. Creamy rich malt. Slightly sweet up front. Medium bitter on the backside. Very well balanced. Notes of toffee, honey and caramel. Medium-bodied. Lively carbonation with a creamy mouthfeel. Nice, dry, crisp finish. Excellent pale ale. If I lived in Southern California, not many days would go by when I woudn’t enjoy one of these beautys. Reminds me a bit of Rogue’s Dead Guy Ale. If you enjoy this beer, you will certainly enjoy the Rogue as well.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
355ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
Sweet caramelly aroma. Bright orange, floaty bits, Watery palate. Toffe and some walnut papers at first.. But after the first sip it’s just sweet water with some hint of hops. Another uninteresting APA.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - GBBF 2007. A dark copper coloured beer. There are ops in the aroma but they are suprisingly subdued and don’t stand out from most of the UK beers at the fest. The taste has some grapefruit flavours in the mouth from the hops, and some biscuity malts. All quite thin and dull for a Stone beer, but still tasty.
