COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

I hate to report that this is the first brew from Stone that I though was sub-par in anyway. The color is a deep amber, why not call it what it is,... an amber, and the hop character was,... non-existent. Very unimpressive and so many of you rated it really well. I hope it is not due to a certain expectation of rating for this brewer.

Copper color with no head. Grainy aroma with a slight hop end. The taste is overwhelemed with a bland grain smoothie-like taste. Some earthy hops, but not enough to counteract the bad part. Disappointing.

pours medium orange and clear. Small frothy off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty of cookies, and heavy on the hopps ... grapefruit. Flavor starts balanced but unfortunatly ends very bitter with a long aftertaste of hopps. Medium bodied watery and oily and softly carbonated. Not refreshing or clean.

Very disapointed with stone on this one. Aroma was of mild citrus and floral hops and i meal very mild. Not much hops in the flavor with maybe a slightly buttery taste. Maybe this was just a bad bottle or something but the first bad beer i have had from stone.

Amber body, minimal aroma. Well, it looks nice. Bland flavor, boring, overpriced beer.

copper with a decent tan head. dark nutty caramel aroma with a touch of floral hops. sweet nutty caramel flavor with not quite enough bitter floral hoppy goodness to balance.....uh just too sweet. bittersweet caramel piney finish. not bad just a bit watery. it wants to be medium bodied but is just a bit too watery. lively carbonation. its not horrible......its just kind of a mess. thats the first time i have said that about a stone beer....huh...this beer definitely needs work.

Sample at Roziís Wine House Stone Brewing Co. Event. First smell was really strange - like opening the dishwasher right after itís done. Perhaps that was just some supped up lemon/pine combinations in the beer. A bit bitter with a light copper appearance and off-white head.

Bottle from Central Market in Fort Worth. I screwed myself having the Arrogant Bastard first. I wanted so much more.

Good beer with a good aroma. A little too malty for my taste. Cool looking bottle though.

Clear deep amber, thick creamy beige head, foamy lacing. Citrus notes balanced by a floral aroma. Taste definitely falls on the hop side with a token nod toward malt. Bitter aftertase.
