I get caught up sipping on IPA’s, IIPA’s and stouts that I forget how good this is. illidurit (898), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Brilliant orange color with a fluffy tan head. Nice sticky lacing forms rings on the glass as the beer slowly dwindles. Surprisingly un-hoppy for a Stone beer, both in nose and flavor. Malt is toasty, caramely, and well balanced against the citrus hops. Unexpected but welcome restraint. Extremely easy to drink due to its low alcohol, smooth mouthfeel, and balance.

I’ve had the IPA and the ruination IIPA. This one hangs heavier on the malt side, but very fresh and clean tasting. Compared to a sierra nevada pale, this one is much less lively on the carbonation, less hoppy, darker colored... I wouldn’t even guess they were the same style honestly... but this is still a refreshing brew, extremely drinkable... sweet but well balanced. I don’t like how they put the same description on this style’s label about the new brewery machines, telling me to put the beer back in the fridge and all that. one of my favorite brewery’s anyway...gnite! blipp (1772), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Bottle. Appearance: Pours a really beautiful hazy orange amber with a long lasting light beige head and good lacing. Aroma: Mosty floral hops, some sweet fruits as well. Palate: Medium, very smooth. Flavor: Floral hops, a hint of caramel malt, an almost peach like fruitiness. Nothing is overpowering here, lots of different tastes mixing really well. Overall: This is an awesome beer. I know it’s the best pale ale I’ve had, can’t imagine one being much better than this. RedSox2004 (362), Pacific Palisades, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2009 Pours slightly hazy amber with a nice frothy 2-finger head that settled to a cirrus-cloud like film and left nice lacing. Floral hops aromas accompanied solid malts and a hint of freshly cut wood. moderately sharp hops up front on the palate with a generous helping of bread-like maltiness and a touch of caramel and butter. Silky, almost oily mouthfeel, moderately carbonated, and a great bitter hops aftertaste. A classic. GMUcrew7 (377), Mason, Ohio, USA

The flavor is a great balance of the light hop flavor and the full, rich sticky sweet malts. A great pale ale that I will definitely buy again. ShawnMalloy (120), Auburn, Massachusetts, USA

Pours darker than your average pale ale. Tasted a bit "green" to me. Grassy and lightly fruity. For me, it makes a decent chugger. gabbama (116), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, USA
