Really nice. Soft, delicate aroma of hops against a kind of nutty malt background. Flavour starts with a nice hit of citrusy hops, then quickly switches to a pleasant, rich malt flavour, slightly fruity, that blends perfectly toward a lightly bitter finish. Very good. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 3, 2007 This beer starts out with a faint aroma of hops, backed up with a hint of sweetness. It pours a cloudy dark amber, with a thin white head that leaves behind good lacing. Gentle bitterness and good balance roll across the tongue when tasting this. A nice sessionable beer. oakbluff (302), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Faint hiff of hops in the nose. Taste- caramel malts and cascade hops- grassy and citrus. Very nicely balanced and quite tasty. Not overly hoppy, esp. for Stone. Reminds me somewhat of Alpha King with the doughy malts. Drinkability is very good. One of the better pale ale’s I’ve had. everettvh (34), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

My new favorite pale? You bet! jr1610 (15), San Marcos, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2009 Aroma is hops, dark wheat bread, floral notes, and some sweetness. I could smell this all day. Appearance is a bit of a hazy brown/copper color. Good thick off-white head when poured and then dissipates. Flavor consists of wheat bread, some sweetness, rich maltiness with a splash of hops which adds bitterness. Very nice. Overall, I really like this beer. It’s got flavor, looks great, and always leaves me satisfied. Very good beer. JoeTheYounger (304), California, USA

Nice malt characters with nice hop balance that leaves a mild bitterness. Medium carbonation. Overall really good beer. twistedviews (70), California, USA
