May 29, 2009 What an amazing take on a pale ale. Very nice clean golden amberish color with a white head. Aroma is citrusy and malty. Flavor is much the same a very striking balance of hops and malts. The balance is subtle and complex at the same time, like walking a tight rope.

Jul 26, 2008 Amber brown appearance with tint of orange. Thin bubbly head which dissipates quickly. Strong hop flavor with a bit of a metallic taste. After taste is not too bitter and overall pretty pleasant. Very nice pale ale – one of the better ones that I have had.

Oct 31, 2007 One of the best APA’s I have. In fact my first APA. This is what got me started on Pale Ales in the first place come to think of it. Awesome beer from an awesome brewery.

Jun 24, 2007 Got a 12 oz bottle at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. I was shocked to see them offer this beer here, and since I knew that I had not yet rated it, i went for it. They poured me 12 oz bottle into a plastic cup. The color was a deep dark brown with 1/2 inch of light brown foam. The aroma was light hopps and malts. Mouthfeel was slightly fizzy, silky, and very satisfying. Flavors of anise, malt, and fresh baked bread. Finish was dominated by clean hops, but was a bit too short.

Feb 19, 2008 Updated: Mar 7, 2008pours a slightly hazy ruby-amber with an off-white head. aroma is hoppy, citrusy, and a little floral. taste is light bitterness, nice rounded hops, very well balanced. has some citrus and pine notes. mid-full bodied with average carbonation. crisp, refreshing bitter finish. clean, lightly sudsy mouthfeel. yum! badass session brew. this was a really nice APA, will definitely buy again if i see it.

Feb 9, 2009 A- Deep amber hue, creamy white head that is mostly diminishing, tiny thin particles, slight lacing
S- Nose is malty and caramel with some subtle citrus hoppiness
T- Very light caramel malt predominates throughout, short dry hoppiness very subtle in the finish. Well balanced and enjoyable. Spoke with a Stone employee who said this beer has won recent competitions as an ESB, go figure.
M- Smooth, medium body with a short, dry finish, soft carbonation
D- Great, easy-drinking APA. This is a very refreshing beer that I will continue to enjoy.

Jun 13, 2008 Pours a red amber with thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, fruit, faint hops. Taste is caramel malts, fruit, faint hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and carbonation is lively on the tongue. Pretty great pale ale.
