Aroma is citrusy and malty. Flavor is much the same a very striking balance of hops and malts. The balance is subtle and complex at the same time, like walking a tight rope. Strong hop flavor with a bit of a metallic taste. After taste is not too bitter and overall pretty pleasant. Very nice pale ale – one of the better ones that I have had. scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Got a 12 oz bottle at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. I was shocked to see them offer this beer here, and since I knew that I had not yet rated it, i went for it. They poured me 12 oz bottle into a plastic cup. The color was a deep dark brown with 1/2 inch of light brown foam. The aroma was light hopps and malts. Mouthfeel was slightly fizzy, silky, and very satisfying. Flavors of anise, malt, and fresh baked bread. Finish was dominated by clean hops, but was a bit too short. efrumtheidiot (190), Maryland, USA
