Lothore (226), California, USA Apr 27, 2008 This brew pours a dark brown with a reddish hue. Big head which dissaptes into a decent amount of lacing. Smells of hops, hints of sweet flowers, slight bread smell and I could swear I smell a slight bit of banana. The taste seems very balanced. It ends with a small amount of bitterness. The mouthfeel is fairly thick for an APA with ample carbonation. This brew is highly drinkable, definitely my favorite APA.
Underhook (112), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 5, 2008 Smells great, lots of light fruity, flowery aroma. Pours a copper/amber with a bubbly head. Taste reminds me a lot of Sierra Nevada’s brew. Lots of light fruit, citrus, apricot, some peach. Lots of malt, only a bit of hops. Very good stuff here. hop_lover (139), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2008 Not impressed with this one at all. As far as a pale ale goes... I can’t realy taste the hops in it. Too rich a maltiness for a pale ale. It’s not even pale... it’s copper. drpimento (499), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Sep 4, 2008 Poured with a nice frothy, textured head and lots of lace. Nice amber color. Mild hop with some malt nose. Hop flavor is remarkably muted. Not bad, but nothing special. A surprise. Was expecting a lot more from the Stone. Balanced, clean pleasant finish. Monger (456), Roscoe, Illinois, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours a bright orangish amber color with a decent off white head. Aroma of malt, spice and light hops.Taste is sweet, earthy with tyhe flavors of malt hops, spices and light fruit (peaches). Extremely smooth and very delightful to drink. An exceptional pale ale. after4ever (1717), Brier, Washington, USA Sep 3, 2008 12-oz. Pours a murky dark burnished amber with a thin, loose, slightly sudsy ring of white bubbles. Buttery, toffeeish nose. Bit of wood there as well. Body’s a little on the light side of medium, fairly soft carb. Mild biscuit and crackers mid-palate with some gentle woody hops rolling around. Not really a very exciting beer...definitely had higher hopes.
