el_caballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 10, 2008 A little dissapointing for me. I am a huge fan of the IPA and Ruination. I found the hop character on this beer on the weak side and just wanted more flavor. The malts are nice but I just wanted more. It is very drinkable still and i found it fairly light. Could work as a summer refresher if not in the mood for something a little more flavorful
Skeegle (293), USA Jul 16, 2008 I was shocked with how flavorful and thick this beer was. It has an awesome caramel malty profile to go with the hops that make this absolutely (save Alpha King) the best pale ale I’ve had to date. It was thicker than I expected too, which brought out the caramelity in a way that made it taste sugary along with the thickness. Just great, and actually very different for a pale ale. SuperDave70 (641), Arizona, USA Jul 14, 2008 Dark amber pour with a medium foamy head that lasted. Aroma is light roasted malt followed by some hops coming through. Good lightly roasted caramel malt flavor, with a touch of citrus hops on the finish. A really nice pale ale. MartiniFiend (60), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Dark amber with a creamy head. Nice hop aroma with a maltiness that dosn’t infringe on the hops. Very nice palate. Flavor starts out hoppy with a well balanced malt finish. An excellant beer. CTSVPhantom (3), Vista, California, USA does not count Jul 13, 2008 Something else stands out every time I drink this beer. One day, it’s the mild hoppy flavor. Another day it’s the light-malt roastiness. Sometimes, both. Either way, delicious, very balanced beer. Pours red with a very light head. tagz (287), USA Jul 10, 2008 bottle. pours red with a nice cream head. a nice spicy hopped pale. i was expecting the standard west coast citrus thing, but this one goes in a different direction. solid malt base, some dark crystal in there as well which lends some fruitiness. the palate is great. nice prickly but mild cabonation. i’m not a big fan of high L crystal but they don’t go overboard. definitely a well made beer in any case.
