Commercial Description:
Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

Draught at Brouwer’s Café: Deep amber, fiery, strong carbonation, very hazy, fantastic lacing.   One of the better looking Pale Ales I have had in a while.   Very mild hop aspect, otherwise it appears to be more malty.   Mealy on the tongue, certainly more malty than I expected, and moreso than it being hoppy.   Big malty mouthfeel, while great it just doesn’t have the zest of other Pale Ales.   Pale malt finish, very little hop presense even at this point.   I am completely amazed this one isn’t hoppier.   Decent, but as a PNW Pale Ale its too subtle.

Very good Pale Ale. This has a nice hop taste but is wonderfully balanced with the malts. Very drinkable.

Deep coppery orange-red color with a finger of quickly receding eggshell head. Much darker than I expected. Aroma is floral hops and caramel maltiness. Body is mostly cool malt and just enough hops to balance. Seems more of an amber ale than an APA. Still good, but SNPA is king here.

bottle. Stone is finally in GA!!! I have had many of their beers before, but am so amped that they are within an arm’s reach now. This has to be one of the best APA’s available on the market.... simply wonderful. pours a deep amber/copper with a good sized white head. You can smell the hops as you pour it... Stone never lets you down in that dept. very pleasant hop aroma with some citrus and bread notes. very full body with the hops up front and very smooth over the top and sides. solid bitter finish for an APA. solid session beer.... one of my new favorites for middle of the day drinking.

Bright clear amber pour with generous off-white head and nice lacing. I really like this beer, and I’m not a huge lover of pale ales. Pine wood, a bit of earthy dust, and some toffee on the nose, with more of a hint of hops than a full noseful. Some biscuit, grain and fruit in the mouth and a touch of sweetness. Also nice floral hints. Very malty for a pale ale, I think. Very satisfying. My new session beer...

Dark golden pour. Good hop aroma, pine, some citrus. Lively mouthfeel. Nice maltiness for a pale, mellowing the hops nicely. A little biscuit and citrus. This was a real nice example of the style. I think many brewers forget they are not making and IPA when they brew their standard pales. Have not been disappointed yet with any Stone brews thus far, plus the bottles give you something to read.
