4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ap - Slightly hazy, very deep reddish amber/copper in color with a creamy bone-white head that holds well and leaves some nice lace.
Ar - The aroma is limited but offers some light fruit (berries & citrus) and a mild caramel and biscuit notes as well.
P - The body is medium with a very fine and gentle carbonation that leaves it surprisingly creamy in the mouth.
The flavor starts lightly sweet and fruity, reveals some biscuity caramel malt and bright floral hops as it warms in the mouth, and finishes dry with a lingering sweet & fruity citrus maltiness. True to its Stone heritage, the bitterness lingers well after the malts have gone away. Well balanced. The bitterness is appropriate for the style (Stone claims this beer is in the English pale ale style) but not-overdone and the maltiness & tight carbonation are exquisite.
This is a very nice beer and part of a long line of quality beers I had had from Stone. Right up there with Dale’s pale ale as the best American pale ale I have had.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark amber. Spiced malt aroma. The taste adds pine and caramel. Big and rich for a pale ale. Good stuff. Typical stone.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber with off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts with with both floral and fruity hop character. Flavor is mostly sweet with the the fruity hop character taking more of a back seat. There is only a slight bitterness. I find this an excellently balanced beer where neither the malt or the hops hold a dominant sway. It is simply a well-crafted brew that accentuates each ingredient to create a highly drinkable yet flavorful beer.

Amber in color, clear without a lot of carbo’s.
A good amount of foaminess.
Balance aroma of hops and malts, hops are earthy and citrusy not overpowering.
A nice tasting brew with bready maltiness, and good bitter hop flavor nothing in particular hop wise just a bitter flavor. Dry finish.
A balanced beer with a nice body to it.
There’s some lacing down the glass.
