3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
pours unclear but bright golden with a nice creamy white head, good retention and nice lacing. juicy mangoes, pepper, dankness, very fruity, honeyed and almost doughy maltiness, spicy, delicate tropical touch, lactose-like sweetness - or is it coconut pulp? anyhow. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily, bit sticky, assertive grassy-citrusy-resinous finish. very enjoyable!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a medium copper with a thin head but excellent lacing. Aroma is hops, hops, hops, and slight sweet. I’m getting just a hint of coconut on the nose. Palate is medium, and the 7.7 abv isn’t particularly well hidden. This is a straight-up west coast DIPA, very hoppy, and I get a lot more pine/ resin than the description’s "tropical notes." Bitter finish, just the slightest hint of coconut. Not a huge fan. Seems slightly one-dimensional for something that advertises itself as a coconut IPA. Should be DIPA with coconut.

Bottle shared by JD at beer study. You talk about a beer-JD opens it for you--now that’s service! Fairly sweet nose, not much for hops left-fairly cheesy, some pine, caramel malts. No coconut but not sure it would help this brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Light yellowy, hazey appearance with a good amount of pure white head. Lacing is spotty. The aroma is the only place I really get a good amount of coconut. Lots of sweetness in the nose. The taste is very much west coast IPA. Little malt sweetness, tons of hop character, and a touch of extra back sweetness from the coconut. Glad I bought this to try, but I wouldn’t grab one again.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance - amber gold pour. Finger sized head.
Aroma - slight coconut smell.
Mouthfeel - slightly creamy. Slight slight carb bite.
Flavor - slight coconut but not like you would think which is like what coconut flavoring is. Hoppy with slight bitter aftertaste.
Overall - interesting. Not sure if this will be part if my normal rotation but interesting. Surprised by the hops.

Big fruity aroma and flavor. Plenty bitter, slighty peppery & dry, but where’s the coconut?

Bottle shared with my brother in law while mourning a blowout loss for our alma mater. Coconut not really present in the aroma or taste. Some fruit notes, but faint. Overall not bad.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Thanks Joel. Light orange tan color. Medium head. Mostly tropical hops with some citrus hop. Slight coconut. Big hoppy taste. Medium heavy bitterness. Needs more coconut flavor. I was excited for this one bc of the coconut. The taste is mostly stone ruination beer. Nice tropical hop flavors though. Which I can’t complain about...

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a hazy amber with a thin soapy head that faded very fast. Aroma is hops, but not much floralness going on. Taste is of mild fruitiness and hops. At first it’s an indiscriminate fruit flavor with a very subtle coconut backbone. Followed by a resiny hop bitterness that doesn’t really last too long. I dunno, this one didn’t really do it for me. I really enjoyed drinking all of Stone’s DIPA’s but the regular IPA’s are kind of just meh to me. I didn’t really enjoy this one; ended up passing the last quarter of the bottle to a friend.
