3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to tectactoe for splitting this one. I was pretty pumped to try this one. It was a solid IPA. I didnít get much coconut out of it. But nice hop flavor. It is from Stone after all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle pour via a dogfishead Randal jr! The #randaljr really makes this a really tasty brew. Lots of coconut aroma in the beginning with just the right amount of coconut sweetness on the finish. Out of the three collaborations this weekend, #wootstout took it home!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Review from 8/2/13. Enjoy by date is 10/10/13. Pours a medium amber. Itís quite clear, filtered. Medium to large bone white head. Good amount of lacing and solid retention. Objetively, the appearance deserves high marks for technical merit, but it seems a bit slick and lifeless to me. I donít really care, but it would be kinda fun if a coconut IPA looked sorta creamy or something. The aroma is big on tropical hops and stone fruit. Lots of mango and peaches. Fairly floral, as well. However, itís a bit dull. Iím drinking this a day after it showed up in my city, and itís just not as bright as Iíd like. Also, thereís pretty much zero noticeable coconut aroma. I think I can pick out a mild note, but it could be all perception bias. Thereís also some crystal malt sweetness, just a touch to me for me, though Iím not sure Iíd feel that way with a better hop aroma. The taste starts out fairly sweet with more of that simple crystal malt-tinged sugariness. Then, I get an initial burst of the tropical fruit hop flavor, until a wave of bland bitterness washes things out. Itís not all that bitter, but the bitterness just isnít accompanied by much flavor. The finish has a bit more coconut, but itís hiding underneath more meh grapefruit rind bitterness. Carbonation is pretty standard, maybe a bit prickly for a strong IPA. Some hop oiliness and a bit too much weight from the malt. This was fairly disappointing. Itís not a bad IPA, but Stone can do better, particularly with the hop brightness/juiciness. More importantly, the coconut is far too mild. I suspect that this beer didnít translate well to a larger system because I heard some rave reviews off of early bottles from the collaborating homebrewers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden with a thin white cap head. Aroma doesnít have a lot of coconut in it..in fact, were it not for the name I wouldnít have guessed it at all. Nose mainly has some tropical hops and a quiet caramalty sweetness. Typical by-the-numbers DIPA aroma, in a good way. Flavor is the same; some grapefruit hops, some pine/floral hop dankness, pale malt booziness, strong leafy bitterness, lingering bitter grapefruity finish...man, Iím finding it somewhat hard to judge this against anything. Itís supposed to have a ton of coconut but a) I donít taste it and b) it tastes like the industry standard DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle In a tulip. Pours Amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, light coconut, and some pale and caramel malts. Flavor the same. Average texture. A good Stone IPA but it could be more interesting.

Pretty good. Nice coconut notes, the hoppage is good and it has a nice chalky palate

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Slightly hazy but bright good pour with a soapy white head. Some piney hop character and just a touch of toasted coconut. Decent, but I was hoping for the coconut to be more prominent. Improves a bit as it warms.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. A bit old at this point, still plenty of hop punch in the aroma and on the palate. Gorgeous head and lace, great retention. You sure there's coconut in this?

Orange yellow appearance, fairly hazy. on tap btw. nose is typical west coast IPA...pretty earthy and piney, nice malt back bone. taste is like a weaker ruination with a bit more passionfruit. I donít get any coconut.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear golden orange amber color with a small off white head with sporadic sticky lace. The aroma and flavor have an nice west coast hop profile; tropical fruits, citrus, some resiny notes with some toasted malt character. The coconut is almost nonexistent, only showing up with mild notes to the finish. There is moderate bitterness. Very drinkable, although I was hoping for a bit more coconut.
