RUINING PALATES SINCE 2002
In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

Good Beer

Beautiful bronze pour. All grapefruit and pine on the nose. Pine, grapefruit and caramel malts on the tongue, with some tropical fruit flavours. Resiny and bitter, this is a hop monster worthy of the Triple IPA title.

Poured a slightly hazy amber to pale copper colour with a 1 inch white head. Aroma is hop forward with notes of caramel, floral grapefruit, citrus, and pine. Flavor is sweet bready notes with a tropical and pine bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Bitterness is not overpowering and rather inviting with lingering flavors of herbs and pine on the tongue. Solid IPA. 2015 edition.

Bottle. Pours a hazy deep orange red with a thick white head. Aroma of glorious sweaty hops, hop oils, pine, citrus, and caramel malts. Very rich aroma. Flavor of rich malts with a bitter hoppy bite, pine, sweaty and oily hops. Quite bitter and aggressively hopped. A true triple IPA, very decadent and heavy. 9/4/8/4/14 (3.9/5)

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of foamy white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent and an excellent lacing. The deep aroma was hoppy. The sharp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a bitter hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of bitter semi-sweet vinous citrus caramel and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Bomber. Poured clear, orange, nice and big foamy off white head with good retention and spotty lacing. Aroma is super hoppy, lots of pine and citrus notes, some caramel and some biscuit. Taste is malty and sweet in the beginning but turns piney and resinous; hoppy and bitter, dry but oily finish. Very enjoyable, strong but quite drinkable.

Aroma is sweet hops, tropical fruit, pine, typical west coast. Appearance is golden amber, very off-white, close to light amber head. Taste is unbelievable, just like an Enjoy By but with more consistency. Tropical fruit, pine resin, a great representation of the style. Mouthfeel is just a little off, lighter than you’d expect but no booze to speak. Overall, my god this beer is good.

Bomber into super giant glass. Pours a medium cherry laced Amber, thick, dark rose shades, mahogany hues. Head is attractive, ample, off white, and gourgeous. Solid lacing. Aroma of deep pines, fervent malts, hop punch to the nose all over, but doesn’t smell as pungent as a triple would deem, or does it? Taste of melon, hops, malts, hops, orange, hops, pine, malt, sweet grapefruit, grass, solil, malts, hops. Wow. Abv is there but in no way detectable from the enjoyment. Full bodied, heavy set brew for the coniseurs, yet could pass on the novice scale for a strong ale. Worth every penny.

Bomber poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Light orange color with an off-white medium head that lingers. Aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, and fresh hops. Taste of citrus and pine with a hint of heat from the alcohol on the finish. Definitely a fan, although this one isn’t on par with the Enjoy By in my opinion.

A dark orange ipa with a thick, foamy head. The nose is a combination of intense, thick and chewy malt and dry, herbal/resinous pine from the hop. Very slick in the mouth with a robust burn from the alcohol. Honestly it’s a little sticky for me because of the boatload of malt but it’s good. The hop is quite tough with a grapefruit astringency and a very herbal flavor in the finish.

This year’s version is a real winner. Delicious, rich hop profiles dance on your tongue. A full, somewhat breaded spice malt bill smoothes it over, and the slight alcohol burn makes this one a fantastic brew.
