COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
RUINING PALATES SINCE 2002
In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

Pour from a bottle yields a clear copper pour with a lasting white head with a bit of lacing. Aroma is hop forward (obviously) with mostly pine resin, but a fair bit of orange citrus in there as well. Hops are backed by a slug of caramel sweetness on the nose as well. Taste is all about the hops front palate, but doesn’t bitter quite as hard as I would expect. More citrus and pine resin flavors. Thin, and when cold, fairly boozy (I honestly don’t recall the last beer I had that got more mellow when warm...WTH). Not a bad beer by any means, but I was expecting to get blown away.

Beer pours dark golden color with a massive, retained off white head. Massive aroma of grapefruit and passion fruit. Taste is full on bitter. This is a hop bomb of the highest order.

Bouteille 650ml. Couleur orangée voilée, mousse beige. Arôme de pamplemousse, houblon résineux, malt sucré, alcool. Goût de houblon résineux, pamplemousse, malt, sucré, gazon, amertume intense et persistante. Carbonatation faible, corps moyen-dense.

Medium orange color with a two finger white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, grapefruit, some tropical fruits. Taste is grapefruit and pine with a nice bitterness. My only issue is the alcohol taste in the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

GOD DAMN this beer is hoppy as hell and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Comes on strong (As one would expect) and blasts you in the face with a wave of delicious hops. An overwhelming amount of tasty flavors explode all over your tongue and ends with a pleasant and reassuring bitterness. For a 10.8% beer you really can’t tell. Beware of that!

Transfer from BA review on 7-29-12- Poured from a bomber into snifter Appearance – Pours a hazy orange color with a two finger white head. The head fades relatively fast to leave a good level of lacing. Smell – A delicious citrus aroma is the heaviest; a wonderful mix of tangerine, orange with a lighter note of grapefruit. Mixed with this are malty notes of a more bready nature mixed with a lighter caramel sweetness. Very pleasant. Taste – The taste begins big in malt where a caramel sweet and bready taste meets the tongue. The hops soon enter the taste however and mellow out some of the sweetness. While initially the hop flavors are of a sweeter nature themselves, with a strong tangerine and sweet grapefruit flavor, as the taste advances it bitter up ever so slightly as flavors of a pine and some lemon nature come to the tongue. In the end the malt and the hop seem to meet a common ground and blend to produce a very hoppy, yet quite balanced taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is thick and creamy with a moderate level of carbonation. The body suits the beer very nicely and allows all the hop flavors to soak into the tongue. Overall – Delicious and dangerous. While at 10.8 % this thick and tasty brew conceals its alcohol quite well. Large sweet and hoppy flavors and a great creamy body make this one to try!!

650 ml. Big nose of dank herb with some grapefruit zest, pineapple, caramel and resin. Tastes of bitter green herb, grapefruit, caramel, peppery toasted rye bread and pine resin. Long finish is mint and wooden bitterness. Medium body is smooth with low-medium carbonation and definitely to the dry side.

Damn good imperial IPA. Stone always represents. A complex mix of citrus and bitter hops are what I’m picking up. It also has a resin pine right in the back. Provides good head and lacing as well. Cheers!

Bomber bottled 6/9/14 (so ~1.5 months) poured into snifter glass, semi-cloudy golden-ambery color with bright white soapy head. Aroma of huge hops; grapefruit, orange, lemon, pineapple (okay general citrus really) and some pine/resin. Taste is huge hop flavor/bitterness with some notes of bread, honey and light caramel. Heavy body, low carbonation, slick, oily with long lingering syrupy bitter finish. It’s a huge DIIPA from Stone, I got exactly what I was expecting and enjoyed it.

Appearance: this beer pours with a smaller beige head without much head retention, its a very nice clear bronze to orange color, Aroma: citrus, creamy, bread, alcohol, egg, moderately roasted malt, very complex Taste: has a very strong maltiness but is very bitter at the same time, citrus, alcohol, has a spice to it as well, Palate: heavy mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste, alcohol burn, average carbonation Overall: pretty much what you can expect from stone, just an over the top beer, very good, a beer like this is fun but you can’t drink much of it at 11% abv

Has the effect of a malty Ruination. They doubled, or elevened all of the ingredients. Only doing so, takes away the fruity flavors of it’s namesake.
