In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is ďA Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,Ē then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

22oz Bottle. The pour was a cloudy burnt orange with an average (1-2 finger) off white frothy head that reduced down to a large puddle and collar of residue, and had good spotty lacing. The aroma was of pine and resin hops, grain malts and a soapy yeast with notes of citrus (grapefruit and orange), caramel and a mild apricot sweetness. The taste was a little sweet and a tad bitter with a hint of caramel and a mild fruity ester at first, and then had a serious hoppy citrus bitterness along with a mild alcohol tinge at the end. The flavor lasted an very long time after the swallow with a nice bitter and mild sweet hoppiness settling in on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was between light and medium in body with a dry yet slightly oily texture and a medium carbonation. Overall a very well put together brew with tons of flavor and a smooth feel, which just complimented the mildly sweet bitterness...

This is a beer for those who would like fresh hops swimming in every glass they drink. The malt punches through with as much force as the hops finishes making this one of the most interesting brews Iíve tasted. If you like to punch your taste buds in the kidneys, this oneís for you.

Pours golden with thinner than expected head. Aroma is tropical fruit and citrus. Flavor is citrus and pine, malt is sweeter than ruination. Not as great as I thought it would be but still great. Tasted next to a ruination 2.0 and was sweet compared to it. Iím still waiting for a beast IPA for an anniversary beer. Like they used to at Stone.

22 bomber to cervoise. Pours clear amber. Creamy tan head. Aroma is HUGE hops...pine, booze, resin, dank. Taste is roasty toasty malts, booze and a wall of wet hops. Finish has that definitive Stone flavor...not sure how to describe. Lasts and lasts on the palate with a lot of heat.

"A stage dive into a mosh pit of hops." As a headbanger and botanical beer freak, that slogan is like a sirenís song. Letís be honest, though, the words "Triple IPA" would be enough to ensnare me. When I cracked open RuinTen, I was (rightfully) expecting a hop bomb of the highest degree. What I wasnít ready for was how complex and artful (yes, artful, damnit) RuinTen would be. This Imperial IPA pours ruby-amber with off-white foam. The aroma? Itís floral, earthy, spicy, piney, tropical, and malty. The taste? Damn, thereís so much going on in here. Thereís candy-like malt, juicy hops (big tropical note - orange, grapefruit, peach), and wet, resinous pine. The body is crisp, chewy, and totally dry at the very end. Youíll feel the booze, but the taste hardly penetrates the barrier of hops. For me, this is like Pliny but with more hops. In other words, take a bow, Stone.

Stone is amazing. Packing 10% into a deliciously drinkable IPA is an impressive feat. The hops are subdued by the alcohol ever so perfectly. That is all ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Everything I love in a beer, tons of flavor, strongy hoppy taste, and perfectly bitter.

Lots of pine on the nose. Pours a honey gold with a thick off white head. Damn. This is pretty good. Very well balanced. Lots of malt and a thick mouthfeel. Resin and bitterness and a boozy finish. Very nice.

Look - Copper orange, see through body. White head with medium sized bubbles. Medium sized head with normal pour. Lacing. Smell - Grapefruit. Malt. Pineapple. Pine. Lemon. Taste - Grapefruit and light malt. Bitter pine on the finish. Well balance blend of hop and citrus. Feel - No carbonation bomb all at once but throughout. Medium to heavy feel. Sticks to the tongue. Overall - I enjoyed Enjoy By July 4, 2015 better than Ruinten. Ruination 2.0 was a step lower than this one. I love the dank, grapefruit taste.

Had this beer on tap. Pours a gorgeous amber. Very tropical, orange, crazy hoppy, very bitter, dry malt, very dry. The alcohol is masked well and this beer gets the job done. Very, very good beer..

UPDATED: APR 17, 2015 Presentation: It was poured from a brown bomber bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 10.8%. It also had a nice description of the beer. Appearance: The body has a hazy look and an inviting amber color. This is topped with a good thick head. The head is light tan and slowly settles down as I drink. This leaves some lacing on the glass. Smell: Itís aroma is exactly what you want from a Stone IPA. It leads of bright tropical fruit and citrusy hops. It also brings solid sweet maltiness to the nose as well. Taste/Palate: The base is a solid sweet bready maltiness with juicy tropical fruit, mango and grapefruit jumping right out. The finish has a good bitterness slowly fading of the tongue. The palate feels full and the carbonation is active but smooth overall.
