I am not an IPA fan, so I was waiting to be won over. The price was right for a bomber at Foodtown. The Ratebeer 100 label was proudly displayed. This smells like dog food and tastes like every other pretentiously hoppy astringent IPA I’ve had since 2007. Whatever.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
September 2, 2013 - bottle from Cyclone. Cloudy orange pour with huge head and spotty lacing. Aroma was malty and citrus / piney hops. Taste was malty initially then the citrus and finish was a piney bitterness. Medium body, some carbonation and bitterness lingers in aftertaste.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a a light amber-orange with minimal head. Very little, if any, lacing.
Nice flowery hops hit the nose immediatley. Some citrus and caramel malt follow through. Just a well-balanced nose.
WHAM! Hops hit the tongue hard, showing little or no mercy. Citrus and caramel follow up. Medium to fairly heavy body. Carbonation is killed by the overdose of hops.
This is pure hops heaven. Beer really doesn’t get any better than this.
Get it, and get it NOW!

bomber into a tulip
Hazy orange amber color, off white head with thick ABV legs. Impressive looking beer.
Nose is very forward pine, orange peel, citrus and herbal vegetable notes. Like a big NZ sav blanc.
Taste is big pine, big citrus, stone fruit, and big caramel notes. Thick and chewy feel. Low carbonation, very oily and very bitter. Very nice and more organised than say palate wrecker is.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 22 oz. bottle.
Hazy, sparkling, bright coppery orange with a 4-finger cream-yellow head and very good lacing.
Aroma of citrus (especially orange), peach, mango, biscuit malt and pine.
Taste of bitter hop resin and citrus on a powerful malt (mainly caramel) backbone. Some tropical fruit and pine come through at the finish. Alcohol in there too, but the hop and malt flavors sink it far below the surface. The hops remind me of the hop resin that gets on your fingers when you handle hop flowers. This is an intensely bitter beer.
Medium/full body and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Aroma of big hops, citrus, floral notes and pine tree. Amber copper in color with off white head. Smells delicious! Flavors of hops and citrus with a slight carmel flavor; full body flavor with a bitter finish. Very good imperial IPA! Alcohol well hidden but very warming. Great pre-birthday beer!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium orange pour; dense white head. Aroma is surprisingly subtle on this, consdering the burst of hops that hit you on first sip. First sip is explosive with citrus and grass hops. Lots of caramel malt too. Flavors settle down into a nicely balanced, smooth beer. Doesn’t taste like a 10% beer.
