Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Pours golden with small head. Aroma is very floral, with fruit & light grass. Taste is BITTER fruity & floral with a very solid malt base leading to a bitter dry end. Did I mention it was BITTER.

Just about the perfect ramped up IPA...lots of hops, great malt backbone that works in conjunction with those hops, plenty of grapefruit, orange, resins, and a candied sweetness that I find really appealing. Terrific oily, and gelatinous body, and an endless super hoppy finish. Along with Imperial Russian, the best Stone has to offer.

Well. This was different. I love hops and this gives you a few!!!!!!! I have never had anything like this (have not had much) before. I loved it but understand you will taste NOTHING else for some time, including very spicy cheese. I thought I like bitter but not sure how many I could handle in one sitting.....I know, wimp.......at least my wife the wine drinker did not like it which made me smile

Another fine brew my bro has got me into. Clear orange gold with thin to medium white head. Gorgeous aroma of grass, caramel and hops. Sweet but just the right amount, dry hop medium bitter finish. A joy to drink and easy like Sunday morning. Delicate and superbly poised like Ryan Giggs in his prime. Lovely. Oh my...

This ale excessively exploits the bittering power of hops which is impressive but ultimately unbalanced. Pours a caramel-amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is bold with pungent grapefruity hop character. Tastes of grapefruit, burnt caramel in the mid-palate, with a scathingly bitter and spicy finish. Body is velvety. Hard to call drinkable but definitely extreme and triumphant in its mission to ruin you in hoppy brutality. I’ll definitely give this one another chance once I recover.

Pretty good. Has a huge grapefruit presence. Doesn’t really draw me in. I haven’t had a Stone beer that I really loved.

What can I say. This is my favorite Double IPA, from the moment I first tried it! In my opinion what an IPA should look, taste, and smell like.
