petematte46 (212), Dallas, Texas, USA May 6, 2009 Golden beer with a white that left decent lacing. Sweet hoppy aroma. Floral hop flavors with more carbonation that I anticipated. Smooth beer with a very bitter finish. stchloe (473), Portland, Oregon, USA May 5, 2009 Really really damn good. Bitter, just plain bitter thick hops. The body is hops, the nose hops, aftertaste of hops. RollTizzee (1), , Alabama, USA does not count May 4, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden-orange with a medium head and abundant co2 bubbles. The lacing is quite thick leaving a distinct line to remind me of the history of my sipping. Smells sweet and malty, although this aroma becomes engulfed by hops upon sipping. Hops! The hops are citrusy with a VERY bitter finish that lingers on the roof of the mouth. However the bitterness seems to diminish the more you drink and the light malt announces its presence. A very good beer and a must try for any hophead. ditmier (1015), Boise, Idaho, USA May 2, 2009 Draught @ Red Feather - Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head...aroma is massive hop florals and sweet caramel malt...flavour is dominated by a sweet, resinous hop essesnce balanced nicely with the caramel malt, and does so without being the slightest bit cloying...not overly bitter in any sense, rather bitter and wonderfully balanced...terrific! savnac (392), Palmer, Alaska, USA May 2, 2009 22 oz bottle. Very fruity, citrus aroma cut with a bready malt smell. Slightly murky gold/orange with a small white head leaving a tiny bit of lace. Bitter taste with a light sweetness and a long bitter finish. This is a medium bodied beer with a creamy mouth feel, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. This Imperial IPA is different than most due to the dominant hop profile and a slightly lower alcohol content that most. Very good. Scauca (408), Lovere, Italy May 1, 2009 Light amber beer with a little vanishing white head. The aroma is sharp , pungent floral and citrus hoppy, with a sweet underlying touch. Full bodied, warming, starts sweet and then explode in a strong drying bitter everlasting end. blazingspiral (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Apr 30, 2009 So, if you’re new to the brew tasting scene, this product will definitely fulfill all of the lavish promises and vague threats written on its packaging. What I’ve noticed, however, is that old-time hops adventurers actually reach a place where the Ruination begins to taste quite sweet and smooth. The hops are still there, of course, but their resinous bitterness is so tasty and so well balanced with delicious malts that the end result is like a mystical Nectar of Life that quenches thirsts both physical and spiritual -- or is that going too far? zizzybalubba (335), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Apr 29, 2009 On tap at the Capital Ale House in Richmond. Pours a golden orange with a thick 1 inch white head. Intense hop aroma. Taste is not well balanced at all; full assault of bitter grapefruit. Just awesome. I will say, however, this is brutally bitter and not for everyone.
