Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Pours golden with an enormous frothy off white head. Very hoppy aroma of grapefruit, pineapple and a hint of caramel sweetness. Tastes fruity and sweet with mouth puckering bitterness at the end. The overpowering hops are balanced slightly with some toffee sweetness. A ton of citrus fruit. Like most people, I like these IIPA’s when they’re not trying to be balanced. This one makes a half hearted attempt, but its really all about the hop. Just the way I like it. A great double IPA.

Pours a nice dark golden color with a one inch thick white head. The aroma is piney, maybe a little citrusy, and a little sweet. The flavor is citrusy, a little sweet, and definetly some pine. The finish is less astringent than expected. I disagree with Stone’s description as this is actually not too bitter. I was expecting more bitterness, but this is surprisingly well balanced. There is some faint malt characteristic behind the hops that really brings this brew through nicely. It’s a very fine beer, very enjoyable.

Bomber. Another gem from the boys at Stone. Pours a beautiful rich golden with a slightly off white head. Wonderful lacing. Rich piney hoppy aroma. Strong hop flavor which is perfectly balanced with the malt. Wonderful Double. Have another? Keep em coming!!!

I always love a double thats only 7.7. This means that the hops are entirely out of whack with the amount of malt, and its certainly the case here. Destroys your tongue, but in the best possibly way. Incredibly piney and so dry it sucks the moisture off your tongue. A beautiful beer,

Love the 12ozers. Poured amber with a white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Some orange flavor with lemon. Pine hint. Finished wet.

Its like an entire pine forest in a bottle! There are few beers that are more bitter than this beast! Tons of pine and grassy flavors with some citrus and flowers too. this is about as intense as they come and that makes it fun to drink!

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a small, white head. As expected, you get hit right in the face with hops. Big citrus notes are there with some pine thrown in for good measure. Behind all of the hops some musty malt aromas lurk. Medium carbonation with a rich mouthfeel. Full bodied for sure, this one has some chewiness to it. Strong citrus, pine, and resin notes on the palate. A nice spice comes along for the ride too. What surprises me is how well balanced this beer is. Nice honey notes help balance out all those hops. A strong lingering bitterness dominates the finish. Beautiful lacing the whole way down to boot. Surprisingly drinkable, I will definitely be keeping some of these around!

Notes of soap, pine, citrus peel and grass. Aggressive bitter finish, slightly sweet.
