COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2006 I equate this beer with shotgun blast to the face....but in the best possible way. I occasionally have to look down to make sure i’m not eating a floral arrangement. I know that might not sound appealing to some, but then again, neither do other forms of masochism. lots of carbs on hand if i plan to finish off a bottle. What an awesome beer. Listen to the bottle and serve at cellar temp.

Durable white head atop a faintly hazy gold pour, just fantastic looking. Wow, this beer really smells great! Massive hop aromas cover a touch of light honey. To really appreciate the flavor this needs to warm up for a bit, otherwise the hops are just too pervasive. Once the right temperature is reached, you can appreciate a nice malty base that provides a medium body and clean mouthfeel. Nonetheless, the hops are showcased throughout with grapefruit, lemon zest, and pepper flavors followed by an astringent, refreshing, and lasting bitter finish. Maybe it leans a little too much to the hop end of the spectrum as far as balance, but that’s perfectly fine for my tastes. The more I drink, the more I like it.

Stone is one of my favorite breweries. Their beers are well crafted and great drinking beers that don’t try too hard to be too crafty. This IPA is no exception. light amber color with nice white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. slight citrus, nice hops and slight bite. A little bitter and dry in the aftertaste. Goes down easy.

The Ruination pours a light amber color from its well-designed 22oz bottle. Body clarity is clear, with a small, white head. Aroma is of heavy flowery hops, with a significant lemon presence. BB said it smells just like ’Scrubbing Bubbles’. Initial flavor is moderately bitter, finishing lightly bitter. Mouthfeel is light and dry, but goes down smooth.

Great hop beer, maybe the most satisfying. Deep orange ale, mildly toasty, firm malt background, with the most assertively perfect hopping in the industry. You realize what is there (or isn’t),while debating the possibility that another brewery in America could be making better ale - NOPE !!!!!!!!&#

Pours a clear orangish/amber color with thin white head. Aroma is of plenty of hops and citrus. Flavor is the sames with lots of hops. Very nice bitter finish which was very nice. A very delicious IPA

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2006 Poures a clear orange color with little head that diminishes quick. Aroma is hoppy to high heaven. Also has citrus and a little bit of earthy tones. The flavor is hops with some citrus and pine notes. Hops, hops, hops. Has a bitter mouth and finish to it. Great IPA

Thanks so much Brad, much appreciated! Dark, orange pour, with a large creamy custard head, leaving scads of lacing. Hop-a-saurus aroma, witha syrupy pine and honey side, with some malt to balance out the aromatics. Piney hops fill the mouth, and the receptacle appreciates, bitter as all get out. Bready and sweet bread. Great! My palate hath been ruined due to the massive hopping! Long bitter finish. Greg , you brew good beer! Thanks!
