COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

I really like IPA’s and this one only emphasizes that fact. Once you start to really like the bitterness of hops, you just can’t get enough and Ruination doesn’t disappoint. An extremely balanced IPA despite the fact that it rings in at 100 IBU’s in the bitterness department. Full, rich and yes, you can taste malt here. No, the malt isn’t a big player, but it rings the hops down to the point that they aren’t as overwhelming as you are expecting. Began the bomber inside and finished while grilling steaks outside in 35 degree temperatures. Delicious.

Golden color with a diminishing white head. Some lacing. Hoppy. Hops in the nose, hops in the flavor, hops everywhere. Wish the ABV was a little higher.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2005 6/11/02: Ah yes..I’m the first to rate this new addition to the stone line-up..poured golden brown with a creamy whiteish head...Grassy/floral aroma...very smooth/grassy/super hoppy flavor..suprisingly balanced..11/21/02: the aroma was nice and grassy but had hints of alcohol..the color was a tad deeper than the regular IPA..there’s balance, there’s bitterness..but it lacks the delicate peachy notes of the regular IPA..side by side with the IPA..I like the the IPA better..

What a great IPA. Bitter enough for me! I also like how this beer comes in a 22 ounce bottle. I had this and a double bastard and im pretty shwilly.

Delicious IPA. Possibly my favorite. Not as overwhelming as one might think. Great flavor and finish.

Well this will grab you by the tongue and make you pucker! But I like it a lot, I love bitters and this has the bitterness that I like.

Wow! Wonderful nose of citrus-hop-grapefruit. Exceptionally smooth when you think that it has 100 IBU. Finish is quicker than expected as well. This stuff could scare some away but I love it.

Definitely an attention-getting taste! Not as biting as some other IPAs - but certainly better tasting. Nice pour - thick creamy head, beautiful dark golden color. Hops are overriding in the flavor, as expected, but there is a nice floral and citrus tang to help balance it out. Cool bottle art as usual!

This is a great IPA. Although the IBU’s are about 100, this tastes nowhere near that. An incredible IPA and a must for any hophead.
