UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 proper rerate needed. stone doesnít treat their water and they donít know how to mash without leaving the malt extremely rough. also their yeast character is dirty.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bright golden amber, average head, hop citrus apricot honey aroma. Very bitter beginning and finish, little bit malt finish, keeps getting more and more bitter as I drink it until I start to get used to it, somewhat. Too bitter to have often, prefer the regular stone IPA. At times this has the same apricot taste as the arrogant bastard. I think this is where I draw the line and say uncle.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
As the description says, very bitter but surprisingly well balanced for a beer with over 100 IBU's. Strong alcoholic aroma and you can definitely taste the alcohol. Wonderful, hoppy finish. One of my favorite beers.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong hoppy aroma. Nice golden color with unremarkable head. Extremely bitter taste with medium body. Finish is also bitter and substantial. When looking for it, can also detect some malt.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 4, 2003 Nice clear amber body with a big foamy head. Nice thick retention all the way down the glass. Aroma is big and citrusy with a biscuity yeast and malt quality. Medium bodied and a bit chewy. has a stinging numbing bitterness from huge amount of hops. Slightly sweet but oh so bitter. Really nice big IPA.

This is a good example of a Micro-Brew gone bad !!! It is real easy to make a beer so bitter that is not worth drinking!!! Over-Rated Brewery

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A golden color with a lacing head. (side note: it is making a perfect butterfly in the middle of its liquid surface.) A hoppy and citrus aroma. Nice bitter hops right up front with a calmer citrus flavor rounding it out.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Well, trying to follow the previous rating is going to be tough. This beer is a WOW for the hops lover. Decent head and carbonation with great lacing. Aroma smacks you in the face repeatedly as more and more hops aroma is released from the surface. Color is a slightly murky orange color. Taste of hops, hops and more hops. A little rough in the beginning but once you get used to it, it will be worth the effort. Finish is bitter (yummy) and leaves a thin film in your mouth. Don't plan on enjoying any other beers or food after drinking this beer. Your taste buds will be useless for hours. A great beer for anyone who is a fan of hops and bitter beers.
