3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 9, 2005 Solid double IPA. Great hop profile with a palate-destroying bitterness. Iím not sure it stands up to the title/reputation it has as the most incredible hop-monster in existence. I know itís what the good people of Stone are going for, but itís way out of balance -- on a second drinking, I couldnít finish a glass. Good but not drinkable.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours auburn, with a very sweet grapefruity nose. Alot of carbonation at first. Taste is really hoppy, and considering the 7.7% alchohol, it was well hidden. Palate is refreshing. I am not a fan of IPAís but I honestly have to say this one was very well done.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
2004 bomber courtesy of Eyedrinkale. Thanks Mike! Awesome super hop citrusy aroma. Pours a cloudy copper color witha beige head with quite a bit of staying power. A super bitter hop blast that I love! This could make me a new fan of IPAís Love this beer! E.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer rules. I had it from the bomber the other night and was very sad when it was over. Although you (as I) may not be able to afford this beer regularly, it is a real treat if you love imperial IPAs.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This isnít as hoppy and ruinous as the back of the bottle might claim, but it is a great beer for hop heads. Nice light hued amber with tightly packed small bubbles leave nice lacing. Good heavy hop scent, but not extreme. Flavor and palate; nice mix of malt and lots of hops, leaves mouth (and liver) wanting more.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted in Toronto. Obtained from Fredís Market in Berkeley CA. Colour is an intense and deep golden, almost like amber. Very clear and absolutely no head. Aroma is incredibly floral, spicy and slightly bitter - no hint of malt or sweetness in the scent. Flavour is intense, with a lingering acrid bitterness that bites the hell out of the taste buds.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A very small Double in my opinion. This is more of an IPA. Some sweet malt almost honeyed. Biscuity and cookie malt notes. ok bitterness but not Stone big. A small Imperial by CA standards. Needs buttloads more hop bitterness and resin.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Huge flowery and citrus hop aroma that I could smell as soon as I popped the top. Pours a medium orange color with a giant, frothy white head. Flavors are grapefruit, oranges, some grass, some must, with a nice malt balance. medium-full bodied. Great brew.
