Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Rosy orange color with a fading white into a small puddle of murky bubble on top. I cannot see carbonation through the orange haze. A surprising honeydew and rose perfume smell greets me, definitely not what I expect from an IPA. Only a slight hop aroma sneaks out beyond the floral and fruit. While the sweet taste of honey and fauna are present the unmistakablehops of an IPA is on your tongue. Its a great balance and a memorable beer thats not exceptionally bitter.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a nice head to it. Smells strongly of citrus. Taste strongly of citrusey hops and a slight biscuit flavor really a great beer.

bottle version. Pours a cloudy, caramel translucent amber... Immediately hit with an intense montage of citrus fruits along with a heavy punch of piney hoppiness. The initial hit to the palate is filled with well paced hops that dance around the mouth and linger only long to invite another sip.. Flavors of caramel, nuts, biscuit yeast and some overlapping fruits that dull the intense bitterness somewhat.. Overall a good IPA becuase the hops dont overwhelm the rest of the flavor..

Draft version. Pours copper with a nice white head. Pretty high carbonation and decent lacing. Aroma is mostly hops...pine and citrus. Flavor is quite bitter with a trace of malt to sweeten. Easy drinking.

One of the best beers out there. Golden body with a small but persistent head. Strong hoppy and citrusy aroma; very appetizing. The initial taste is wonderful. The perfect mix of acidity and hop flavor is similar to fresh orange juice. A smooth malt nose with a biting hop finish. While not overly complex, this beer is so well made that you forget about the lack of depth, but enjoy the continuity of flavors. A true gem.

Pungent hop/floral aroma. Golden amber color, slight lacing/head. Lots and lots of bitter hops, but a delciously crips floral/citrus flavor to it, also heavy piney flavor/aftertaste. Mouthfeel medium. Wonderfully balanced: malt is not overpoweringly sweet/heavy as Hopslam. It is not heavy at all, and is insanely drinkable, because the bitterness does not linger on the pallate forever. It has great bitterness, but is not overpowering. WONDERFUL. This just lights up my tastebuds.

Appearance: large, frothy, white head; pretty clear; medium amber, reddish hue Aroma: malt is almost non-existent; slight cereal, grain component to let you know its there, but minimal, more emphasis on orange, lemon, citrus with touch of flowers; hop component is more fruit, less pine; unusual banana component is probably the only flaw; also traces of pear, peach, pineapple Flavor: Better balance and unity of flavors throughout compared to Dreadnaught; still a very long, bitter finish Palate: Medium to full-bodied
