| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2008 Bottled. Pours clear copper with nice head. Aroma is citric and resinous clover honey, finished with sweet malt; much sweeter than I was expecting. Flavor is mellifluous and coniferous with a bitter malty bite at the end. Much better balance than I was expecting. Finish is resinous and dry; the bitterness lingers but isn’t overpowering. Palate is pretty smooth and not too carbonated. Good beer. ansermadide (507), Kyle, Texas, USA

I love it... it’s actually billowing a half inch above the top of my mug! Cloudy orange IPA-color. Aroma is seriously hoppy. So much so it’s almost smoky. Flavor... well, a typical double/imperial IPA. My taste buds are by no means ruined, as the brewer description suggests. In fact, I can think of many IPAs that are harsher than this that are still tolerable. Don’t always believe the commercially-written hype, I suppose is the moral of this story. But all of that behind us, this is a pretty good beer. No aftertaste (for a double IPA, at least). Light body. Easy to drink. Not too bitter that you’re forced to make a face, but at the same time strong. A well-balanced concoction, Stone. Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Shared a 1L growler/swing top from the Stone brewpub.
Pours a nice clean/clear deep golden orange color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger white head, lots of sticky lacing afterwards. The nose is awesome, lots and lots of hops, piney, grapefruit/citrus, slight caramel. The taste is one hop bomb, piney, with a very nice touch of citrus. The finish is very dry and bitter/hoppy. Medium body. Very drinkable, first time I’ve had a Stone growler and to cap it off a TDH brew. This does a body good, lol Thanks again Steve. wmubronco1992 (178), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a honey color with medium off white head. Excellent lacing. Huge hoppy/grapefruit aroma. Flavor is all hops with intense bitterness. Think this is the bitterest IPA I’ve ever had. Very dry finish. Mouthfeel is huge. You can still feel it 5 minutes later. Tremendous beer. Only negative is the cost. Beardface (984), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Hazy yellowy orange color and a smallish cloudy white head. The smell of hops is insanely huge with hops and the flavor hits you with an equally insane hop feel and hints of fruit, mainly orange and pineapple. Extremely tasty brew, and it just might ruin you. johnnysmoke (54), Texas, USA

Initial taste of syrupy caramel malts and minor bitter hops. Prefer the regular IPA better because of the stronger hops afireinside96 (819), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
