Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Pours a honey gold with a one finger off white head and cool lacing. The nose is full of grapefruit hop and only a small amount of caramel malt. Flavor is truly hop dominated with floral, pine, and grapefruit notes. Resin and biscuit. Some sweetness is evident but the hops so dominate the source of it is ill defined. Bitterness is evident but not overpowering. If there is a hop flavor it is here in spades. The brewers pull that off with some amazing smoothness in taste and feel. Hops is the name of this game and Stone plays it very well.

A massive DIPA but without the sickly sweetness that sometimes plagues the style. Extreme piney hop nose portends the Ruination that will assault your tastebuds. Very bitter with a long aggressive hop finish. Malt character is biscuity but does little to temper the tsunami of hops that follow. Pours a gorgeous light amber with THICK off-white head. Great heaps of sticky lacing. A very drinkable DIPA, Ruination hides its 7.7% content very well. Extreme, but well crafted as well.

Semi clear gold with a fluffy head. Aromas of citrius, flowers and a small bit of pine. Tastes of resinous hops and citrus oils, refreshing for the mouthfeel, and overall pound for pound the best double IPA in the world.

This IPA is like a kick in the face. Hops galore, bitterness abounds, it’s absolutely everything an IPA should be. Just make sure not to try and drink your yellow fizzy beer after tasting this. . . it’ll actually taste worse than before.

A decent IPA, nothing to outstanding, thought it was kind of average, but the bottle is sick.

The pour is a nice medium amber, with a decent white head. This is an extremely aggressively hopped IPA, and one any hop junkie will appreciate. The nose is strongly citrus and pine, however is is also balanced with touches of caramel malty tones. The flavor is plenty bitter with hops and balanced with a mild sweetness, but the resinous hops stay on the palate for a long while. Yet anther great Stone creation.

Wow. Ruination is exactly right. Hints of citrus and pine but its hard to taste much past the hoppiness. Dry and fizzy accross the palate. Overall not my favorite Double IPA but still good.
