thickfreakness (130), AUSTIN, Texas, USA Sep 11, 2008 Pours bright golden with a fluffy white head that won’t fade away. Smell is pine, some juicy fruits and light malt. Flavor is huge, bitter pine with a slight bit of dusty malt. Extremely dry and bitter finish with well hidden alcohol. Pretty tasty but a little overkill on the bitterness, then again it is called Ruination. keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Sep 11, 2008 Top of the line IPA. Very hoppy aroma and taste. Great looking amber with a small head. Finish is very dry. Flavor lasts long after the last sip. jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottled. Poured a clear golden-orange with a foamy white head. Very pretty in the glass. Intense aroma of hops, citrus, malts, and slightly alcoholic. Balanced taste between many flavors. Extremely smooth with a nice bite on the finish. Simply terrific! dankbrewqueen (41), Morongo Valley, California, USA Sep 9, 2008 quite hoppy and definitely a favorite ipa! it seems as though stone cant miss with there exceptional brews. i keep tasting them, and keep liking them! quality ingredients make this one top of the line for me! AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Sep 9, 2008 Clear amber with a rocky head. Nice piney, mint leaf aroma. Smooth medium body. Great hop driven flavors of pine , mint leaf with a touch of pale malt sweetness. Haven’t had this one in years, forgot how freaken’ tasty it is. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Sep 8, 2008 Bottle: Pour was medium golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma of very fresh and citrusy hops with some residual malt sweetness. Alcohol is very well hidden in this brew. I got a ton of hops in this brew but surprisingly there was no sharp bitterness whatsoever. Initial hops characters were amazing and it finished smooth and sweet. Another damn fine beer from Stone. NextBestThing (22), Westtown, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Too much. Over the top hoppiness, more than necessary. I love Stone but prefer their basic IPA to Ruination. I don’t get even the whisper of a malt backbone, just hops for the sake of over-hoppiness. Not horrible by any stretch, a reasonably drinkable brew but there are other more desirable alternatives. If you get a reasonable example of Dogfish 90 Minute you’re drinking a better beer. Still acceptable if it’s the only bottle of Stone at your disposal. SamAdams777 (37), Abilene or Stephenville, Texas, USA Sep 5, 2008 Damn, is this beer good or what? Its a hop lovers dream. Take a sniff from your bottle, smells amazing. Malty, hoppy, sour. Stone brewery doesnt skimp on quality here. Take a huge mouth full and just let it settle on the back of your tongue before you swallow. This is what beer is about. Cheers! to another great Stone brewery product. This beer is a punch in the face and a pure invasion of the senses.
