MinetoKuroda (11), Nihombashi Chuo-ku, Japan Aug 26, 2008 On tap. It is Gokujo no Umasa da. Incredibly well-balanced. bitterness is long lasting but it is not iyami na shitsukosa. Muscle but shinayaka. Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 25, 2008 1pt 6oz single from Total Wine, River Edge, NJ...pours amber in color with a small white head...aroma is sweet, floral, citrusy...flavor is much of the same with a nice lingering hoppy bitterness...thin but smooth mouthfeel...thin lacing...not an overpowering Imperial but another damn good offering from Stone. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA Aug 25, 2008 Golden beer with a white that left decent lacing. Sweet hoppy aroma. Floral hop flavors with more carbonation that I anticipated. Smooth beer with a very bitter finish. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Aug 24, 2008 Updated: Mar 21, 2009On draft at Landsdown Road Pub in NYC. Very impressive floral hop flavor makes it distinguishable in a world of dime a dozen IPAs. Superior drinkablity. But when it comes down to it, i’d rather have an Un*Earthly dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Aug 23, 2008 Hops... if ratebeer would allow one word reviews, that would be it. Aroma is sticky with hops, flavor is sticky with hops- predominate high alpha for bitterness and cascade for grapefruit bitterness. As a hophead, I’m not sure you could do better. For what it is, it is almost perfect. Hopslam or 90 minute do a better job at making a balanced beer, but this one sets out to deliver hops, and succeeds.. awiseman01 (318), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Aug 22, 2008 Updated: Sep 3, 2008One of my all time favorites. I went into this one saying, "I will not be overcome by the hops....I will not be overcome by the hops". But being a hop lover, I really didn’t want any less than this beer provided. Holy Sh*t. If you try hard you can get the malt background and some roasted flavor. A picture of this beer must accompany the definition of HOPS in webster’s dictionary. Excellent tastes of citrus, light floralness, and HOPS, HOPS, HOPS!!! A MUST TRY for any IPA lover! WisconsinBeer (514), St Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Pale orange color, minimal head. A few carbonation bubbles. Wow. Big hop presence is the first thing that crosses the palate, they cover all the hop bases here. Pine, citrus, grass. Becomes super delicious as it warms a bit and the malt comes through. Bubble gum finish. Delicious. Tripplebrew (486), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Pours a golden honey yellow with white head. Aroma is largely dominated by piney hops. Flavor is underlying malts heavily dominated by the intense hops with a caramel-like sweetness. Body is light to medium but a bit creamy with mild carbonation.
