Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Bottle poured into English pint. Aroma was strongly of hops. Slightly hazy orange-amber color with a long-lasting 3-finger head that left nice lacing. A powerful hop bitterness that lingers in the mouth. There’s also a nice, subtle malt sweetness that becomes apparant as it warms a bit and you get ussed to the heavy-hitting hops. Excellent.

Big grassy floral citrus hop aroma. Clear golden orange amber with small white fine head. Grassy and floral hop flavor with tea like hop notes. Some citrus grapefruit flavor. Moderate malt sweetness to back up. Medium body with dry citrus grapefruit finish. Excellent.

Oh my what a beer. Nice orange/amber color with a foamy head. Aromas are full of citrus, floral hops and some great malts. Flavor is hops, hops and hops. Floral hops, bitter hops, sweet hops...this is amazing. Malt backbone shines throughout. WINNER.

Truly an impressive beer. I don’t find it OVERLY bitter, but it is a great DIPA. Had on tap and bottle and surprisingly, both just as good as each other. A nice link between a great IPA and some of the more over the top DIPAs

For years and years all that’s been available in Tx is the bastard & IPA. I’ve always loved both and am happy that we’re getting more Stone beer. Aroma is very floral and citrus, full tasting hoppyness, nice dry finish. I’ve been ruined and can’t wait to ruin myself again!

Bottle that I picked up at GBBF, and drank at Cropredy Festival 2008 Pours an orange amber colour with a big bouncy white head. Big fruity and floral hop blast on the nose with citrus, pine and all sorts of other stuff in there, marvellous. Taste is quite an assault on the tastebuds those hops just attempt to lay waste to your tongue with an incisive sweet, fruity, hoppy assault. The finish is a lingering hoppy bitterness quite lovely beer but surprisingly one that I expected a little more from.

Bomber. Pours a relatively clear golden topped with a tight foamy white head. Strong citrus hops, some tropical notes, mango, apricot, some pine hops, a light maltiness. Big flavor, again more citrus hops and strong malt backbone, huge bitter finish. A little soapy. Very well-balanced for an IIPA. Nice finish, not too sweet.
