COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Golden with a thin, soapy head. Bitter as hell. Not much on the nose, to be honest, but still quite good.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 Draft at Escondido. Pours clear bright amber with a fizzy, bubbly off white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like grapefruit, resin, smooth booze, light caramel, sweet bready malt. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like caramel, grapefruit, smooth booze, citrus hops, and bready malt.

Cloudy orange with a creamy head. Lots of citrus on the nose and then BAM! a powerful bitterness takes centre stage. More citrus, pine and a pungent earthiness make you sit up and take notice. And drink some more. Excellent beer

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? This beer is a delightfully bitter monster packed with hops, citrus, hops, floral notes, hops, and more hops. Lives up to the hype and puts hair on your chest. Excellent!

Very hoppy aroma. Bitter hops but with a bit of grassy aroma also. Despite the very heavy hops there is some balance with the malts. Deep gold color, pretty much clear, small white head. Taste dominated by the bitterness of the hops. Body is medium; fairly carbonated mouth feel; long hoppy finish. Overall a quite good beer; surprisingly balanced given the IBU level. Not quite enough complexity though to make me crack the 4.0 level.

Bottle, really aggressive hop aroma from the glass, citrus, pine, orange peel. Surprisingly balances out with the body to give a great dipa.

This beer rose up out of the growler and found the glass of its next victim. Smells of mystery and danger, darkness and dank. Initially you think survival is possible with the citrus and floral notes, and then the hammer falls. Pungent, oppressive hop bitterness drags you into the abyss. You take another gulp for relief and repeat the cycle until there is nothing left.

12 oz bottle poured into IPA glass. Appearance is slightly cloudy but perfect color. Aroma is strong citrus hops with an herbal note. Very well balanced. Flavors are hop-forward. Sharp grapefruit with some earthy and herbal flavors as well. Palate is medium body super strong. Overall pretty damn near perfect IPA.

1/2 pint on tap @ brewdog pub Aberdeen. Body is opalescent orange, head is medium creamy white mostly lasting excellent lacing. Nose is fresh fruits, aroma is grapefruit, licorice, honey, vegetables. Taste is medium sweet medium hoppy bitter. Finish is grass, heavy hoppy bitter, quite long lasting. Refreshing, not too easy, great beer.
