So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Orange colour, small head. Aroma of hops! Taste is quite bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very, very nice

Nice hop aroma with grapes, flowers a bit parfumic some caramel, Clear orange, white head. A bit of nutty maltiness that is soon overwhelmed with hops. Nice long lasting bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation, would prefer it lighter and drier. A really nice IIPA, but I know it to be even better, I suspect mine is a tad bit to old

Sadly served to cold to release the full gamut of aromas. Appeared hazy amber with a good skim of white head. Up the nose was Golden Queen peaches, spruce cones and resinous hops, typical of the style. In the mouth a lush fruity, zesty and hoppy symphony with bitterness in spadefuls. The finish is an enduring glissade from violent chlorophyll into distant medicinal herbaceousness. Could possibly be a rock star beer but for the way it was served... something breweries ought to take ownership of.

22 oz bomber poured into my Duvel glass. Really nice light orange color with a massive white head. Aroma is citrus and dank, almost musty hops. Perhaps some onion. Taste is mostly those dank, earthy hops and pine. Very bitter. Nice mouth feel for an IPA. Overall this is one of my favorite beers.

Bottle (3 months old). Pours clear golden with a large dense white head. Aroma is resinous, pine, orange peel, grapefruit, biscuit. Taste is sweet ripe fruits, biscuit up front, pine, grassy bitter taking over. Medium smooth body and soft carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Pours a bright clear gold with thin head. Aroma is complex: sweet hops, citrus and pine. Flavor is full and classic DIPA - bitter and refreshing. Clean finish, alcohol is hidden. Notes from Stone event Brickskeller 6/1/09.

Best ipa you will ever have it is my #1 favorite ipa it will destroy you with hops but in a good way its balanced enough where its drinkable this is pure gold with a bright white head and has notes of forest pine, grapefruit, lemon, Mandarin orange and caramel with a slight sweet finish definitely for a hop head thumbs up all the way for ruination

The Stone people have it figured out. IN YOUR FACE hops with flavors moving around and mixing the way they’re supposed to. Its one of those you’re always sad to take the last drink of.

Appearance- amber, hazy, pure white head which persists around the edge. Aroma- nose fills with floral hops, huge fruitiness, lots of orange and orange peel. Tangy fruit, hop resins, marmalade, bit of malt. Taste- hops galore. Full mouthfeel, coats the mouth. Massive bitterness, juicy fruit, orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine, tangerine, lingering bitterness in a very long finish, fruitcake hints and some biscuity malt. Really excellent.

Hazy orangish gold with thin white head. Aroma of hops, and a little fruit, but not citrus. Great flavor. Bitter, but just right. Very good.
