COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

I love IPAs and Stone; but this is not one of my Stone favorites. I hadn't had this in a few years, but my recollection of it wasn't great. It's good, but very one-note. It's a good hoppy beer, but there are many better hop bombs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2014 floral hop aroma (a little different, but really, really nice), , golden color, clear, minimal head, lacy, heavy bitterness, with a long bitter finish and somewhat salty. I’m not a huge hop fan, but if you are, you will love this. To me, it’s bitter as it’s going down, but the finish is unusually awesome.

Enjoy by 3/4/14. I’d like a lot more aroma, really enjoying what’s here. So clean and smooth. Plenty of bitternesss, but a little light @ 8.2%. I could drink a few of these, maybe it’s a "session DIPA."

Bottle, enjoy by 03/04/14. Well, my first try of the NEW Ruination. Being a long time fan of this brew I had to seek this one out fresh. Stone increased the malt bill to bring this up to 8.2% from 7.7% apv and subtlety changed the bittering hops. This IS still a hop bomb for sure. Same minimal white head and great lacing. The aroma is big citrus and a little piney. Taste is bitter grapefruit and lemon zest with a little pine and a nice smooth malty sweetness that, tastes way better balanced to me. And just when you thought it was over, the hops come back with a vengeance. A true ride for the tastebuds! Well tweaked Stone!

Muito aromática. Pinho, cítrico. Amargor forte e persistente. Bem encorpada no malte. Final seco. Pouco se percebe o álcool, mesmo sendo 7,7% ABV. Predomina na boca o gosto do óleo de lúpulo, resinoso, de madeira e fruta citrica azeda. Lembra sumo da casca de limão. Cerveja única

I’m not huge west coast IPA fan, but you can’t go wrong with this bitter bomb. I like a little more going on in my beer, but this one does piney bitterness to a tee. Highly recommended, but be ready for a "knack knack".

Poured clear golden with an off white ring. Aroma of big citrus and floral hops. Medium body, some sweetness, flavour of grass and pine, very bitter.

Now bottled in 12 oz. for 11.99 a 4 pk. Aroma is soapy and piney, dank. Pours a nice clear orange/golden. Flavor is very hoppy and slick from oily resins. Soapy, piney and bitter. Claiming it is 8.2% now, it’s still as drinkable as ever. Always one of the best IPAs out there. This is the beer that got me hooked on craft beer 12 years ago. It still stands out in a sea of IPAs.

Malty and hoppy aroma, some piney and some fruity. Get a peachy mango like hop aroma as well as the piney. Flavor is very balanced and full. Nice malt balance to the hops. Primarily get a piney resinous hop flavor with a bitter finish. Would like more citrus hop balance, but is a very good beer if you want more piney but still very balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gold pour with a tight, long lasting white head. Aroma is huge - citrus, pine, malt, resin. Taste - slightly sweet, floral, bitter but not overwhelmingly so. Grapefruit comes through a little as the bitterness starts to fade, then it feels a bit thick and syrupy. Fantastic beer
