Nena (116), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 11, 2009 Pours golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is very hoppy, and a bit spicy and herbal. The flavor is very powerful, bitter, and dry, but still complex regardless. Lots of pine, cedar, orange rind, and an odd floralness. As promised, my palate was destroyed. heybwebo (1), Texas, USA does not count Sep 11, 2009 Fantastic floral aroma and overwhelming hop bit. Not a heavy drink, but a powerfully punch of hop glory. By far my favorite beer to savor. Every other beer get compared to this pint of perfection. Savvy1982 (303), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Sep 9, 2009 Bottle. Shared with hobbersr and Macadem, what a beer! Pours a classic orange, thin off-white head, very exceptional lacing. Nose is pine, sage, basil, white pepper, loads o variable pine. Initially this beer has some boiled vegetable notes, but they cleared up after a few minutes, Palate is huge and intense, loads of many-layered pine, very delicate but still huge. Fucking Ace! BlackLeaf (2), Vienna, Virginia, USA does not count Sep 9, 2009 citrus, orange, clear, minimal head, full body, bitter, long finish
heavy tangrine, floral, and hoppy components. Serious heft. Macadem (100), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Sep 9, 2009 This bottle is slightly older than should be, which is why i didn’t rate the aroma, it was just slightly off, smelling of boiled cabbage and cauliflower (not right,) but the flavor seems to be all there. After sitting open it relaxes a bit and the aroma returned, but not enough to rate it. After a bottle of Pliney the elder, perhaps my palate is already ruined unfortunately, but tastes quite floral, with slight citrus notes, and pine in the spring after a gentle rain. Quite enjoyable, and i can’t tell if its the pliny or the age of the bottle, but going by the description on the bottle not as big in hops as i thought it would be. I may delete or alter this rating after my next bottle of IPA tonite. sallad (110), USA Sep 7, 2009 very thick rocky white head. also very hazy with an orange tint. Grassy and citrus aromas, touches of pine and malt. Strong bitterness backed by malt that only serves to help coat the bitterness around my mouth. Nice and clean, though, with slight alcohol warmth. Extreme for sure, but nothing to write home about. amarcero (8), , Vermont, USA does not count Sep 5, 2009 Absolutely "perfect". That’s the only word I can use to describe. Hopped, malty, and alchohaly all rolled into one. Yes, I realize that "alchohaly" is far from a real word, but who cares when the beer is this incredible? solesaver (4), Oklahoma, USA does not count Sep 2, 2009 Wow! This was a great IPA! You could almost chew the hops. Lovely light amber color with a fine head. The taste still had room for some subtle grapefruity tendancies. Well done Stone!
