So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Among my least liked IPA’s. Too bitter, too thick, seems overly hopped and lacks the balance of some of the other Stone’s. Glory to the hops, I fully agree, but somehow just couldn’t get on board with this one.

Another superlative beer from Stone. An ode to the NW hops, biting, bitter, pungent, resinous, hints of caramel, pine, soap. Bracing, a wake up call for your palate.

Big hop aroma of mango and grapes. No real head and kind of flat, why the poor mouthfeel rating. Flavor was great and intense with the hops. Wish some more carbonation but it understand.

Draught. Pours clear orange with white head. In aroma the beer is floral with a hints of tropical fruits. All backed with solid and pleasant malty base. In flavour similar: malty but wit distinct bitterness and hoppy flavours. Alcohol noticable but it is not unpleasant. Medium to high body, strong bitter finish. In overall not impresive yet very pleasant one.

Bottle, 75cl. Murky golden with a frothy offwhite head. Subtle but deep floral hippy aroma with hints of grapefruit, caramel, pine resin. Thick but smooth and creamy. Heavily bitter, with low sweetness in comparison. A lot of character and complexity in this brew. A magnificent IPA.

Bottle at home. Intense. Pineapply, boiled sweety, a little sharp. Big powerful flavours. A poor head but otherwise quite a treat.

355ml bottle from Oak Barrel, Sydney. Brewed 90 days before BB date of 27/5/15. Pours translucent deep orange with a stable medium white head. Certainly a hop monster with substantial pine resin, citrus orange/grapefruit, soft peppery spices and a subdued caramel malt bill on the nose and tongue. Palate is amazingly easy drinking and light for an ABV of 8.2% with a huge lingering dry resinous hop finish. The archetypal US West Coast IPA.

Pours a clear orangish copper color. Aroma and taste are floral, resin and very bitter.
