COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

There is a reason why this beer has a 100 overall rating, itís strong, its hoppy, itís amazing. I personally enjoy it out of a bottle then from the tap because the bottle seems to allow it to age a bit better than the keg. For further research on stone beers try out arrogant bastard ale and Stone IPA.

Bomber. Pours a cloudy orange with a medium frothy head. Aroma is typical west coast IPA with classical citrus and pine hops, a bit of earthiness. Taste is fairly bitter, but great for the style. Bitter, dry finish. Not sure why it took so long to pick one of these up!

UPDATED: APR 15, 2014 A wonderful beer that warns of mountains of hops and fills the valleys with malt to match. A brilliantly balanced brew.

There are plenty of hops elements along with citrus aromas. It is golden clear with a white head that provide some clinging to the side. Plenty of floral elements, very hoppy, with a big citrus bite.

Pale amber, tight head, Full body, dense flavor concentration, rich and balanced mouthfeel, little alcohol jeat, long palate. Intensely bittersweet which balances the low acidity. Hoppy, very citrusy. Great IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy orange with a medium frothy head. Aroma shouts Western style IPA with classical citrus and pine hops. Taste is fairly bitter, but in line for this style. Also has a medium body with a fairly dry finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew to enjoy.

It is hard to find anything wrong here. The hops are in your face with an amazing finish. I would drive 2 hour for several of these!

Ar: Orange pith, a hint of onion - pine, lemon, and grapefruit. Ap: Crystal-clear gold-copper - large off white head with excellent retention, leaves a trail of foam and settles to a medium-thick cap. T: Toasted malt, pine, and lemon up front - high, clean bitterness - orange, a bit of raisin, very floral - pepper and grapefruit on the finish. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation - finish is dry. O: A mainstay 2XIPA - wonderful flavor, clean bitterness - hoppy, full of taste, and pointed.

Pretty delicious. Although, Iím following up a Firestone Double Jack and thatís a tough beer follow. Hops are definitely the overarching theme here. Very smooth; almost a hint of malt in the finish to balance the bitterness. Great beer but not elite.

Definitely hoppy, not balanced at all. Hop lovers will enjoy. Personally I would have rated it a bit higher if it just had a little more complexity. Either a little bit of a floral or citrus character. The pine was definitely there.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy gold color, with a lingering white head. Aroma is floral, hoppy, piney. Flavor is hoppy and resiny, with a powerful bitter finish. Not balanced, but i guess thats the point. Not syrupy or boozy at all.
