So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Itís from Stone, itís an IPA, itís called "Ruination" - hop-driven goes without saying. The back of the bottle talks of the íassaultí on your taste buds and the way it "permanently ruins you from being able to enjoy lesser beers.í If you want to have a battleground in your mouth, then this is for you. If you think that ípale aleí is a poor manís IPA and every IPA would benefit from being doubled or imperialized or oaked, then this is for you. If you think every porter should be a baltic porter and every baltic porter should be a Russian Imperial Stout, then this is for you. Forget ever having tried a saison, or a mild ale and from now on cease to look back with fondness on that stolen bottle of Red Wolf that you drank in a friendís backyard while skipping school one day lo those many years ago. Youíre a man/woman now so put on your big boy/big girl palate and stop wasting time with beers that donít rip your taste buds off, after all, the bottle is threatening you.

Great head retention, very pleasing to the eye. Dank melons and peaches. Hops taste reminds me of a cinnamon red hot. It's floral, spicy and intriguing to drink. Very aggressive hops. A bomb ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from a bottle. Not bad but overrated. Cloudy orange, little head, slight lacing. The aroma was the best part: maybe candied apricots. More bitterness on the swallow.

Aroma of apricot, hops, pine and hops. Caramel color with a short lasting white well laced head. Dry chalky feel with a taste of fruit, and hops with a very bitter finish.

Copied from my BA review. Hops: Magnum, Chinook, Centennial. 100+ IBUs. 10.13.14 Enjoy by date. Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 09.11.14. A: 3 finger head. See through orange. Great lacing. Head retains well. S: Grapefruit over anything else. I could smell it from an armís length away while pouring. Fantastic! T: Grapefruit and melon dominate. It also has pineapple, flower, and hop resin. M: Creamy and crisp with perfect carbonation. O: This one is a perfect West Coast IIPA. I finally got around to trying this one and it blew me away. Itís very citrusy, the alcohol is completely hidden, and itís very easy to drink. It has a nice candied tropical fruit flavor too, but this isnít overwhelmingly strong as it is in others. I donít like a heavy malt presence in IPAs, and this doesnít have that thankfully. Iím putting the empty bottle on my beer shrine! Thank you Beer Jesus (aka Greg Koch)!

Tap at Brewdog Manchester (4-1-2015). Clear golden colour with aroma of citrus and grapefruit from the hops. Bitter taste, with grapefruit and citrus again. You donít taste the IBUís anymore after some sips.

Bottle in Brewdog Nottingham. A favourite of mine! On the nose, Lemon, grapefruit, orange, clove? Sweet malts on the taste with serious hoppiness, flavours much the same as the aroma.
