COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Holy Beelzebub. Iím thinking the guys who wrote this label knew what they were talking about, but no! I didnít listen. Now the next beer Iíll have is going to be tampered with. TOTALLY WORTH IT! It pours a nice orange golden hue (like a sunset, almost) with a very powerful and lingering aroma. Proabaly the best and longest smelling beer (by that I mean, usually as I get closer to the bottom of the glass, the aroma dissipates accordingly, but not here) Iíve had in a long time/ever. Not only that, but they say this is a bitter beer. And itís true! Too many times I hear "this is a brutally bitter beer" and it tastes sweet to me. Well, Stone backs up their claim and even now, a good 3 minutes since my last swig and I can still taste/feel the bitterness. Luckily it isnít so bad that itís like taking a taste of a hop pellet (homebrewers, you know you do this! but only every so often.) so there is a sweet relief in there somewhere. I canít discern any specific malt flavors, but man...if you like hops, youíre gonna LOVE this beer. But follow their advice and have this last otherwise the beer will do as itís name implies.

Tap @Brewdog Sheperds Bush. Cloudy amber, frothy offwhite head. Fruity, resin aroma. Caramel malty flavour with piney bitterness and orange. Slightly creamy mouthfeel, long dry finish. Good.

Tap at Burgr. Slightly hazy, with moderate lacing. Grapefruit, resiny, a little herbal and bread. Bitter throughout. Body is heavier with a soapy feel.

Sharp malty pine aroma. Deep clear copper colored body with a slim head. My palate was overwhelmed with bitterness. Straightforward malt in background with only a hint of sweetness.

Keg at BrewDog Camden. Dark gold, almost copper. Small white head. Intense pine aroma. A bit of caramel. Bitter hoppy taste, rolling around the tongue to a slightly more bitter finish. Long, harsh bitter aftertaste. Big syrupy mouthfeel. Mmmm. A gorgeous and intense IPA.

Another hoppy jewel in the Stone Crown. A relatively understated fruity hop and malt nose wafts from a hazy tan head. Predictably, a gripping hop profile leads the taste profile, activating the jowls and the roof of the mouth. Juicy Grapefruit and tropical fruit accents are fresh and three dimensional. The buscuity malt is an appropriate counterbalance to the hop celebration. mmmph.

Hazy in color. Not a lot of lacing. The aroma smells alcoholic, but the taste is of a semi-sweet citrusy IPA.

Drinking this beer is like opening a treasure chest. I actually donít believe the perfect beer exists, but this is easily one of the best IPAs I have ever had. Tons of hops- to all the fellow hopheads out there- before you die, ya gotta have this beer!
