4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a one finger head, medium orange, awesome lace. Smells of hop gold with lots of sweet aromas, fruity with orange and pineapple. I get a nice malt presence in the nose as well. taste is surprisingly balanced after reading their description. The hops are complemented well by the sweet. As you drink it the malt creeps in more and more. Mouthful is also thin with little carbonation. Surprisingly drinkable.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Saveur-Biere.com. Light amber, slightly hazy body, with a big, creamy, white head. Smooth aroma of citrus, tangerine, passion fruit, peach, berries, flowers, slight pine, biscuit, honey, even some bubblegum. Taste follows this seemlessy, also very smooth and perfectly balanced! Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a moderate carbonation and it finishes bitter, also sweet, with lemon zest, pine, sweet fruits and malts. Wow, delicious! Really an exciting DIPA, that is end-to-end smooth, perfectly balanced, with loads and loads of fruity hops, but also a complex malt backbone. Definitely lives up to the hype!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
At just on cool and into a snifter. Produces up a hazy orange with very fine, intermittent carbonation and a tight, compact off-white crown that yields plenty of fine lace. Resinous, herbaceous and bright, whole hops on the nose doused in notes of caramelised orange and apricot, rose water, pine sap, eucalypt, camphor and honeydew - so deep and exciting to the olfactories. Big, brutish mouthfeel, soft frothy and foamy with an oily finish. Again a tumultuous amount of ripe, fresh hops dominate over fleeting toasted and sweet malts. Big, bold, brash herbaceous finish that lasts, all chewy and raw. So much pine, so much resin, so much bitter navel orange and grapefruit, rose water and perfume musk. This is an exciting IPA. There is a touch of sweet and sour sauce, ripe apricot, tangelo and star fruit with lashings of the 8.2% ABV just to remind you to drink irresponsibly. I love it. The best from Stone so far for me. A brilliantly big beer in all aspects. Divine drinking. (12fl.Oz, BB 29/07/14, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)

Bottle. Clear gold. Great hop smell and flavor that slowly turns to solid alcohol as it sits.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear orange with a medium sized off white head. Pine, dank, white bread, alcohol presence, grapefruit, caramel. Medium body, oily texture, soft/medium carbonation, medium sweet and heavy bitter. Astringent finish. Good things in here, but the leafy bitterness in the finish is a bit much. Lots of punch, but not really that pleasant.

Pours hazy golden into snifter. An assault on the taste buds. Floral/citrusy notes on the nose and tongue. A monster ipa with a more than generous amount of hops. This one stays with you. A fantastic IPA. Come to expect this from stone

Surprisingly smooth malt profile for a double IPA. Not the strongest hops presence, but a great combination.
